Originally the last remaining, independent member of the three great Illiadian city states of the Era of Contact, Argentis eventually became a small republic when a handful of towns and villages willingly decided to become annexed, during the unrest of the Post-Wasting Era, to be better protected from their neighbors.
The Argentian Republic is a center of Illiadian culture, and famous for propelling the world into a sort of Industial Revolution with their innovations in Ena- and Magi-Tech, and its capital is considered a proper metropolis with a headcount of about a million people inside the walls alone.
