Also known as Tarterian Depths of Carceri or Tarterus. Carceri is a plane that acts as a prison to most of its inhabitants, with the native, fiendish Demodads, also known as Gereleths, acting as their jailers. Once a planar traveler makes their way to Carceri, leaving it becomes much more difficult, as the nature of the plane makes Plane Shift spells simply fail. Thus, in order to go home, one needs to find a portal, which are often viciously protected by Demodads.
