Often mistaken for the equally kind Werebears, Bearfolk are a race that can mostly be found only in the colder and more remote parts of the world, most notably in the north of Liwilai, in countries such as the Kingdom of Tusindfryd, the Kingdom of Graern or the High Duchy of Leijona, though they can also be found in the northern parts of Aiyekar, where they have a wholly unique culture. Bearfolk are a highly nature-oriented people, and even the most urban of them prefer to spend their times in parks and try not to disturb anything; usually, they make their homes in existing natural structures, in order to avoid shaking up the natural world around them. Many of them are highly social and live in a tribal setting, where the entire tribe is considered part of the family, and other tribes often become part of this family through friendships and families.
While Bearfolk are generally good, they are also a passionate people who put a lot of value in their honor. When driven to violence, a Bearfolk can and will defend themselves and attack mercilessly. They often become Barbarians and Fighters, but Rangers and Druids are also not uncommon amongst their ranks.
Bearfolk come of age in their late teens and live around 80 years. While they put a lot of value in their families and traditions, they also care a lot about their freedoms, and thus lean chaotic.
