The other deity of knowledge and learning, besides Boccob, Ioun is the more popular of the two deities, simply due to the fact that she's more active in the affairs of mortals. Ioun, despite sharing Boccob's general neutrality in moral affairs, cares quite a bit about her mortal followers, who she encourages to spread knowledge and learning wherever they can. Many libraries and universities have been opened by followers of Ioun in the past.
One thing Ioun does not particularly like is the destruction of information, lying and secrecy, so she encourages her followers to be as truthful as possible, and to share as much knowledge as possible; however, exceptions, of course, exist, most notably in the case of self-preservation; it would be pretty hypocritical of her, considering that, in conflicts with other deities, she's gotten hurt and had to conceal information in the past too, in order to recover.
