The Agate Seekers return to Vant'ra and tell the receptionist at the local adventurer's guild about what they found during the missing Monsters near Vant'ra, carefully leaving out The Kobolds near Vant'ra and their involvement. The receptionist promises to inform the HQ, as well as tell them about the potential keep to the east where an artifact is kept. As the party left to buy rations, Mikhail stayed behind for a few minutes, as he noticed that the receptionist was reading "Manes of Honor", a book he already read about two Leonin princes from rival clans falling in love with each other. Mikhail recommended her to look up the graphic novel, the two talked for a bit and he left. On their way to the general store, and while buying the rations, the party had a conversation about a couple of ever-shifting topics; first about romance, then sex, then siblings (especially with Philomena and her 15 siblings).
Deciding to camp outside the town due to Volk's condition and the full moon, Dareth Lion'el helped to tie him up (with a bit of help of Volk's side) and the party went to sleep. Thankfully, Volk stayed in control, but had a dream from which he awoke crying.
The next few days, the party travels, seeing two fighting red dragons in the distance to the north-east, in the mountain range several days away.
The party eventually arrives in Espinia and meet Strom Freeseeker, who prepares for his trip to Vant'ra, for the cow competition with his cow Betsy. The party wastes no time, immediately investigating the barn, as well as the two other farms, Lola Criado's chicken and wheat farm, as well as Ignacio Fraile's sheep farm. Volk and Zora find in their investigation that there are canine footprints that turn into chicken footprints, and single out two chickens. Sooty and Philomena do the same at Ignacio Fraile's sheep farm, and find two sheep that are covered in transmutation-magic. Sooty immediately seeks out Mikhail and Dareth, who are having an awkward conversation about Mikhail's knowledge about sex. Just as Sooty arrives, a fight erupts with Zora and Volk, as a chicken Volk grabbed turned into a wolflike monster.
Slowly but surely, parts of the party make their way to the other parts of the hamlet. First, Sooty, Dareth and Mikhail manage to help out Volk and Zora with their problem. Then, Philomena, stopping one of these creatures, gets attacked, but saved in time by the party. Last but not least, the scream of a cow is heard, and the party rushes to the barn, finding a very injured cow and that transformed monster, which is quickly dispatched, while the cow is healed. Turns out the hamlet was beset by Herd Skulkers that prey on farm animals. Receiving rewards from the neighbors, a Rod of the Scarecrow from the Chicken and Wheat Farmer, and eating some chicken pot pie, the day ends.
6 Days pass and Strom returns. He only won second place, but is glad that the animals are okay and the problem is solved, and gives the party their reward; the money and a magic sickle that keeps plants fresh. He also brought Martin Courbet along, so that the party can return to Argentis And over the next 5 days, the party eventually arrives back at the gates of Argentis.
