To whom it may concern,
My name is Samuel O’Lenaghan, a dulennian noble and freelance adventurer who frequently assists the military of Lugh. A recently defected squad of the Lughian military, who stole military equipment, has been acting as bandits in the woods near Dulenn for a while now. While I wasn't allowed to deal with the situation myself, due to laws regarding military defectors, and needed to hire an "officially sanctioned organization" to give me aid and permission to capture these bandits, things have recently come to a head, as no guild members answered my call in time. These aforementioned bandits recently were infected with a curse called Malar's Fever, as it looks like a newer recruit of theirs was a covert agent of the evil god of lycanthropes. Due to this, all lycanthropes and shifters in their merry band of highwaymen have become corrupted by Malar's influence, and as such become stronger and extremely bloodthirsty, even engaging in cannibalism. Deaths of unsuspecting wanderers near these woods have risen tenfold. Due to how bad things have gotten, I now no longer need permission, but with how things currently are, I most certainly need assistance.
So, I am once again calling the Liwilai Adventurer's Guild to please lend me some able-bodied men and women to help me deal with this unfortunate issue, so that we can either capture and cure these individuals, or take them out. Those who accept this request should be mindful; While Malar's Fever only affects lycanthropes and Shifters, if you are bitten by an infected lycanthrope, and contract lycanthropy, things might turn out quite badly for you. Due to this issue, medical and magical treatment for Malar's Fever will be provided by the lughian military to adventurers who become afflicted. However, cures for the contraction of general lycanthropy, or lycanthropic control therapy after the fact, still won't be covered.
Upon successful completion of the Quest, both I and the Lughian military award 750 Gold to each adventurer, as well as one or two small tokens of thanks for the group.
