We return to the game, as the party continues their way through the ancient Temple of Boccob's underground. The next room contained the Transmutation Trial, consisting of a small stone pillar with humanoid handprints on the top, and animal paw- and claw-prints on the bottom. A bit of a funny moment is had, as everyone is turned into something else; M.U.61 an Alligator, Suzzaeth a Wolf, Limni Diluvi and Volk Lesnoy a skeletal vulture for example; though Cerviel stands out a bit, as he is turned into a Chamrosh, a celestial, winged dog that looks like a divine golden retriever. Nonetheless, this trial is passed as everyone finds their fitting claw print on the bottom, and the door opens.
The next room, the Illusion Room, seemed simple, with what appeared to be several spiked pits. This turned out to be more of an issue when Suzzaeth fell through the ground into a hidden spike pit. Thankfully, Philomena Snapdragon, with her flying ability, was able to find most illusions in the room without anyone else falling in.
Before entering the next trial room, the party then entered a side room, where they fought another Ooze Elemental. This side room contained a Hobgoblin skeleton in mages' and priest's robes on top of a throne, as well as a throne with a button that revealed a hidden door, leading to four color-coded statues.. and another mud-elemental. After dealing with that one, and investigating the statues, they seemed to be able to hold something... and Philomena decided to give them the green and blue tablets, which immediately clicked into place and activated the green and blue statues with their corresponding tablet.
The next trial room was the Evocation Trial, where the party saw four rows of stone dragon-heads which, as some of them had to find out, spat fire when someone stepped in front of them. Some trial and error and a bit of thinking resulted in them finding out that an evocation spell temporarily deactivated the statue, allowing them to press the button inside the maw. After doing so with all stone dragon heads, the party found a Wand of Fireballs as well as a red tablet for the statue room.
The next room contained a rest spot, allowing the party to rest for an hour. Then, they went on towards the Enchantment Trial, where Philomena got dominated and attacked Mugi, before he was able to dispell the effect on her. This trial was also eventually overcome, and an enspelled staff with an unknown spell was found. The next room, the Abjuration Trial, was also quickly solved as it contained several statues that worked similarly to what Raul Ammon had when he confronted Zora and the party. This is where the yellow tablet was found. The last trial, the Divination Trial, was then quickly solved by Mugi and his keen mind.
With that, the party placed the last two tablets and entered the central room, which was almost completely flooded with soft sand, and contained a statue of Boccob with tons of treasure in front of it... Odd, as sacrifices to Boccob usually didn't consist of treasures. That's when Suzzaeth felt the ground shift, and a massive dragon with brown scales and flightless wings appeared out of it, intending to devour the intruders to its lair.
A fight was had, and multiple attacks with disorienting sand and caustic acid managed to damage the party quite well, but nonetheless, the party was victorious, slaying the beast in the process.
SESSION END.
