Dodos do not face any natural predators and because of this lack a natural fear response to humans and animals. While many people would assume this would make them easy prey it turns out animals have a distaste and are seemingly revolted at the mere thought of eating dodo flesh. Tasting stringy and nutrient poor the dodo avoided predation by simply being disgusting.
This distasteful nature is not shared with their eggs however, making many tropical communities raise them as a livestock for their eggs and do not have to worry about predators breaking in to eat them. Dodos also proved to be ideal pets for the more extraordinary humanoids and are commonly seen wandering around fey communities.
