Carnotaurus

A stoa is best described as a combination of a bull and cheetah bound in the skin of a crocodile. Their large brow horns are mostly used for just display but during hunting they have been observed ramming their prey occasionally before biting. They are ambush hunters and lie in wait before chasing down prey with an explosion of quick speed. 

When stoas and other abelisaurs attack prey they deliver a large bite to the neck and refuse to let go. Instead slowly having their prey die from blood loss or exhaustion after hours of agony.

Stoas are known for having an extremely powerful sense of smell. Able to track down and hunt their targets for several days on end in pursuit of food. Often they will lose and pick up a scent while trying to track down a good source of prey. Many travelers have talked about the stoas ambushing caravans during the night and ramming through the carriages.

Some bounty hunters and exotic trackers have even taken up using stoas as a more dangerous alternative to bloodhounds. These usually come with mixed results due to the stoas tendency to be too large for their bindings.

In some regions stoas are venerated and considered as a sacred animal. These cultures show tribute by adorning them with variety of headdresses while they sleep. These are seen as a rite-of-passage or coming-of-age ceremony for these ceremonies and are test of the users stealth and sleight of hand. These headdresses are intricately created with expensive silks and inlaid with precious gemstones. These are incredibly valuable and often lead to them becoming targets for thieves trying to make an easy money before being shown that is likely easier to rob a red dragon than to remove a stoa's headdress.
