Vipers are one of the more common groups of venomous snakes found on almost every landmass, save for a few small islands. Vipers are recognized primarily by their large arrow shaped heads where large venom sacs are housed. Vipers are most notable for having venom that causes hemotoxic or myotoxic effects.
