Rokestro are often seen paired with a Kenku, a small bird-like
creature that communicates through mimicked sounds. The
Tabaxi will begin talking to them, asking of a sound or noise
they particularly like; the Kenku will make that sound, like the
clashing of swords, and the Rokestro will mimic it.
Sometimes, a Kenku and Rokestro duo will have the
attention of a town square or tavern, filling it for several
nights. These Tabaxi are quite loved at festivals and large
gatherings.
Wind? They worked for the mail service weeks ago. Fastest I ever got my mail, too. Always on time, nice fellow, never had an issue with anyone. It's a little strange for the Eznio Guard to be looking for a Tabaxi, isn't it? He hasn't done anything wrong, has he? Well...last I heard he was heading home, something about a war going on. Hey...where are you going?! -Robin Celentian, dwarf innkeeper
The Rokestro tribe are what many consider to be the 'standard' for Tabaxi: tall and skinny, quick and light on their feet, and gathering tales to sing at a tavern or around a campfire. Though many Rokestro do stick to the stereotype, they do much more than just collect stories. Innately curious about all baubles and trinkets, the Rokestro are concered about the "why" of an item, not the "what."
These Tabaxi are the storytellers of their kind. With a mix of
vocal abilities and ranges, they can mimic a variety of
creatures and add a depth to their stories that many other
bards would be unable to achieve. Often times, if a story is
not true or stretched beyond belief, their ability to run far and
fast gives them ample time to get them out of sight and to the
next tavern, where their storytelling begins again.
Rokestro are normally seen in the hot savannah or even
deep in the deserts. The black markings running around their
eyes and down their noses act as a blocker for the sun. With
it, they can keep their eyes on what matters most: lunch.
