The whitescale kobold is a rare variant of the kobold species that is related to white dragons. It is found only in places of cold climates, such as alpine regions, arctic regions, boreal forests, glaciers, and tundras.

At first glance, it resembles a typical kobold. However, some physical characteristics the whitescale kobold exhibits bear resemblance to that of a white dragon: snow-white scaly hide, a spined crest on top of its head, and a beak-like snout.

Whitescale kobolds tend to be a bit more aggressive, cruel, greedy, and voracious than their more common cousins. They are also nomadic in nature, following the migratory patterns of their natural prey, which include penguins, reindeer, seals, walruses, whales, and yaks.

Whitescale kobolds always establish their lairs underground. They only leave to forage, hunt, or pillage, and only during nighttime. Like white dragons, whitescale kobolds have adapted to their natural environment and can effortlessly traverse icy surfaces. It isn't uncommon to find whitescale kobolds in the company of a white dragon, serving as the latter's minions.
