Before the elves left their forests, before the dwarves left their caves, before the first humans banged flint on flint, the seraphon toiled within the empire of the creators of the scaled ones. Before their hubris and arrogance destroyed them. The traitorous snakefolk stole their throne but the seraphon saw through their games. They were the ones to follow the teachings of the wise Sotek. -Inscription upon a Seraphon historic tablet

A race of ancient lizardfolk that are trademarked by their highly organized nature and rejection of the teachings of Semuanya, the Seraphon as they call themselves are a group of various lizardfolk united under the same banner of followers of ancient teachings of a forgotten god that only they truly know. Filled with a zealous hatred for the Yuan-ti of all sorts the Seraphon have constructed their society around the stolen temples of the very snakefolk they abhor.

Sotek, the Serpent God.

The Seraphon follow the teachings of a snake god known as Sotek, claiming that they had branched out during "The Great Divide" and helped unit them to fight back against the Yuan-ti. Described as a god of warfare, order, serpents, and reptiles Sotek demands sacrifices of Yuan-ti and other followers of chaos. During an event the Seraphon only describe as "The great pestilence" Sotek favors the blood of Skavor above all others.

United, They Stand.

Seraphon are a civilization of lizardfolk composed of various tribes each providing their own things to their civilization. The three primary types of Seraphon are the Skinks, Saurus, and Chamelos. While many would assume they have a caste based society each seraphon is considered equal and each has their own ability to lead their communities as chieftains or warlords. Among these other races are usually allowed to integrate into Seraphon cities. Crocians are a common group to join them and are affectionately called "Crox" by the Saurus and Skinks.

Nagas are considered favored ones of Sotek and are usually given great respect as shamans or leaders, however if they are found as not bringing about the whims of their serpent god they are considered the ultimate of sacrifices to Sotek.

Obsinite, the Volcanic Glass.

The Seraphon prefer to use a strange material known as obsinite, or volcanic glass. Neither artificers nor wizards have yet to truly identify what material exactly obsinite is made of.

While resembling super-hardened black stone, obsinite is not brittle or fragile, able to slice through armor with more effectiveness than even steel blades. Typically the Seraphon prefer to use obsinite in building weapons like bladed clubs, spears, or the favored of all the macuahuitl.

Seraphon Names.

Unlike other lizardfolk the Seraphon have a more distinguished naming convention. Largely using names with heavy consonants and composed of two to three syllables. Seraphon make no distinction in gender for their names. Much like other lizardfolk also take on titles for feats they had earned in battle or overcoming extreme battles.
