Compies are a common pet for humanoid farmers. With their nimbleness and appetite for small animals farmers often employ them as an alternative to farm cats in feeding on rats and preventing crops being contaminated or eaten. Compies have proven to be largely docile pets with the only main problem is their nocturnal nature. Largely affectionate and very open towards positive reinforcement, while largely social they will readily accept a group of similar sized fowl as a group. Oftentimes a flock of hens will have a compy returning to their coop to rest between hunts for elusive mice.
Spellcasters have been known to prefer compies as a familar form. The dinosaurs small body and well developed night vision makes them a reptilian alternative towards felines.
