On the island of Odo within the city of Yamiechi, a gashadokuro born from the souls of a sunken ship terrorized the shorelines, devouring everything in their path. The lord, believing in a superstition and without resources, tasked three exiled adventurers to perform the ritual and awaken a creature claimed to defend the nation during times of need.
