Slynn

Wizard
Player Character

Slynn is from the far northern reaches of Golarion. Ice and snow are his surroundings.Being the offspring of two librarians of significant importance, he was raised in an ancient secret library of the arcane. Raised in almost complete solitude from other elves, Slynn naturally became a loner, burying himself in books from the library. Slynn’s parents were also respected Wizards as well as librarians, so it was only natural for him to follow suit. Training for him started very early on in his life and was not easy. Slynn’s parents were cruel and took their anger out on him. Punishing him by locking him away in various dark towers of the library for days at a time. All he had were books. So, he studied.

One day while searching through one of the many halls of books, Slynn came across a secret compartment in the back of a shelf by accident. Opening the compartment, he saw the strangest book he had ever come across. It was a sizable manual, but the thing that stood out the most is that it was bound in flesh, stitched together, and written in blood. Upon opening the book, Slynn instantly felt a change start to form inside him as if there was something calling to him. For the next year, he studied the text from the book intensely, learning from the dark guide about the ways of a certain God named Asmodeus, the king of Demons. Not being able to ignore this haunting call from the book any longer, he packed up his belongings and, in the dead of night, crept away from the place that he had called home for his entire life.

The call of the book eventually led Slynn to a dark tower far from his home in the North. The resident of the tower was an old, soft-spoken man, but, there was something about him that hinted at power of untold proportions. Slynn told the old man his tale and then showed him the book he had found. Upon seeing the book, the old man’s visage seemed to change to a grimace of pure evil delight! Knowing what Slynn had brought to him, the old man gave him a choice he could not refuse. Die horribly, or serve him as his apprentice. The next few years were spent in the study of the dark magic, undeath, and the teachings of the one true God of Evil……Asmodeus. Dealing with ritual sacrifice and the dark arts, the two were eventually sought out by a group of heroes looking to bring the pair to justice. Slynn narrowly escaped with his life; the old man was not so lucky. Escaping with the skin-bound book and what he had on his back, Slynn did not look back as he ran from the tower. Running to the farthest points of Golarion from the hounding heros he has found his way to Geb where he hopes to find a safe haven from his hunters and more knowledge about Necromancy.

Slynn keeps the fact that he is being hunted a secret in fear that if he tells someone, they will betray him and leak his whereabouts to the heroes.
