The tavern was located in southwest Daggerford along the eastern perimeter of the drill field. It is a massively large building made from a combination of metal, wood, stone and slate that is able to house a small indoor marketplace as well as private dining rooms on the ground floor. Though aging, the structure remained solid. It has an attached stables about to accommodate over a hundred animals as well as a carting lot for independent travelers. It is rumoured that the cellars contain tunnels that link into the dungeons of Castle Daggerford and even bore through the distance to Mount Illefarn
Most of the clientele of the tavern had plenty of coin to spend. Patrons included rich merchants, traveling nobles, and prominent citizens of the town.
The Council of Guilds (Daggerford) used the private dining chambers of the River Shining for many of their meetings, appreciating the air of importance the tavern lent to their affairs. Tavern prices were rather steep but were backed by fantastic service and atmosphere. Splendid rooms were available on the second floor, including three highly expensive suites.
