Districts
Castle District, the Moated and walled Gothic Neustrian fortified manor house is home to the Belmont Family. What appears to be decorative is in fact highly defensive and quite deadly. Many of the notable families and wealthy also dwell in the district in their grand Neustrian-style houses.
Gable Side, in the lee of the Grand Stables, is a small village-like district, the cottages are all in the traditional Weyland timber frame, wattle and daub and thatched rooves. Cottage gardens abound giving impressive floral displays. At its centre is a village green and ancient oak tree, a small forge and a fine "country" inn called "The Marked Man".
Harrow Street, is a long wide road. Large standing stones run in parallel lines for their entire length. These stones are made from Basalt quarried from the distant Amar's Stone. A gift from the Mountain Duer centuries ago.
Dank Side, along the east banks of the River Sedge is reclaimed marshes. Cray Fishermen live in circular, stilted thatch-roofed dwellings. The Freshwater Inn is found here, a very cheap Inn with basic rooms and facilities that serve excellent local caught produce.
Carnival District, many years a carnival arrived in town for the Mid-Winter Festival and they stayed. Wooden walls enclose the enclave and nightly performances still occur. There is a well-regarded open-air theatre. Some excellent street food vendors and trinket stalls. Jugglers, acrobats, clowns, actors, animal tamers, fire breathers, strongmen, freaks, bunko artists, mediums, magicians and escapologists can all be found.
