Features

Amar’s Stone is the largest Duer community in Weyland and home to the King. His great mountain hall is a testament to the miners that have worked these mountains for centuries. Amar’s Stone is not only a mine but is a city that has grown up in abandoned tunnels and chambers in the mountain. Many Deep Duer are found here living amongst the native Morax folk.

Amar’s Stone is also a dangerous place to live, the miners have gone too deep in places. The Efreet have found a foothold into the mortal realm deep within the mines of Amar’s Stone.

Districts

Upper Stone, is the surface settlement of Amar's Stone and where most of the non-Duer live. It is a thriving community of Artisans and Traders. Some excellent Inns are found here as well as an Ael Embassy, a small theatre, hot springs from water pumped from deep below. A Tenabe Trading House is found here which also includes a very popular Dao Tea House. A small Garrison is also found here. The Anvil a very popular Inn is found here.

The Great Gate, the entrance to the actual Hold is a heavily fortified stone gate that leads into the city and mines below. This is also the terminus of the mine cart system and where the wagons are loaded to distribute to the wider world.

The Foundry lies the furthest from the Great Gate. A vast underground cavern with lava lakes. A huge statue of a Warrior Dwarf dominates the cavern. Molten lava is funnelled into the gigantic smelters to create raw metal ingots or bars.

The Workers Hall, a vast chamber containing Forges, Anvils and all the tools to turn the metal ingots into goods.

The Kings Hall, the largest single chamber in the city is the grandest of them all, with black polished marble floors, vaulted ceilings, octagonal columns rising hundreds of feet, and Exquisite stonework adorning every surface. This was the original mine and was transformed when the city was born.

The Warrens, dwellings, shops, markets, taverns and artisans live in the warren of tunnels interconnecting the plethora of smaller chamber that makes up the Warrens.

Falls of Amar, off of the King's Hall is the Falls of Amar, this colossal 200-foot high waterfall cascades to the river below.  An ornate stone stairway leads down to the water's edge. This area is extremely attractive and has cultivated vines, trees and flowering plants growing on its walls. Many of the residents come here in their spare time to relax.

The Salt Mine, a vast salt mine with a network of tunnels that stretches for miles into the mountainside, chambers of gargantuan crystal formations grow here in the hot humid climate of the Salt Mines. Special protective gear is required to survive for very long in the salt mines.

The Nexus, is where all of the mine cart tracks meet from the various mine tunnels that lead to the many ore and mineral mines.

Other Places of Note

The Anvil, a very popular Inn is found in Upper Stone, it has its own bathhouse and rises 4 stories high. It is in the distinctive Octagonal design of the Duer.

Bari's Shop of All Sorts, this curio, trinket, relic and charm shop is found down a dark ally just off of the main market in Upper Stone. Some say he's a hoarder some say a purveyor of little equal.
