Castle Ehl
Castle Ehl, the ancestral home of the Barons of Ehl, stands as a testament to the family's long and storied history. Blackstone Mine
Blackstone Mine is a place shrouded in darkness and dread. Once a bustling hub of activity, this cursed mine runs deep beneath the earth, where blackstone, or coal, was its primary export. In addition to the valuable blackstone, the miners also discovered silver in smaller quantities, adding to the mine's wealth and allure.
At the peak of its production, the mine was a source of prosperity for the surrounding communities. However, everything changed when the deepest shaft unearthed something unwholesome. This malevolent presence cursed the miners, transforming the once hard-working men into deranged psychopaths. The curse spread rapidly, turning a place of industry and livelihood into a horror-filled nightmare. The miners, now twisted by the curse, became violent and unpredictable, driven by a madness that knew no bounds.
Thankfully, the curse's effects seem to be confined within the mine itself, as the miners will not leave the mine for any reason. This has prevented the spread of their madness to the outside world, but it has also left the mine an abandoned and haunted place. The once-lively tunnels now echo with eerie silence, save for the occasional, unsettling sounds from deep within.
The surface around Blackstone Mine bears the scars of its cursed history, with abandoned equipment and derelict buildings standing as grim reminders of the tragedy that befell the miners. The entrance to the mine is sealed, marked by warnings and superstitious charms left by locals who still fear the malevolent force that resides within. Lapis Abbey
Lapis Abbey, a grand and fortified structure, stands majestically on the eastern plains of Regal Isle. Surrounded by fertile farmland and nestled near woodlands, it prides itself on being entirely self-sufficient. The abbey’s walls are painted a pristine white, adorned with a striking blue geometric pattern that bands around the building, while red clay tiles cover the roof, adding to its distinct appearance. This enormous cloistered square encloses lush gardens, creating a serene and peaceful environment.

Adding to the abbey’s unique charm are the semi-tame cats that roam its rooms, corridors, and gardens, diligently keeping the premises free from vermin.
Yet, despite its well-kept state and abundant resources, Lapis Abbey bears a curious and eerie secret: it appears to have been mysteriously abandoned by its residents. No personal possessions remain, and no clothing or artifacts belonging to its former inhabitants can be found. It’s as if the people simply vanished without a trace, leaving behind only the echoes of their once vibrant presence.

Redgars Pass
Nestled along the road between Fayreton and Blackstone Mines, this charming hamlet is a picturesque spot in the countryside. A dozen quaint cottages with allotments cluster around a small cobblestone square, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. At the heart of the village stands "The Wandering Man," a two-story inn with a thatched roof. This plain yet welcoming building also houses stables at one end, offering convenience for travelers with horses.

Edenvale
Edenvale, once a verdant valley spanning 5 miles wide by 20 miles long, served as the major breadbasket for the entire island. The fertile land produced abundant crops, but the heavy taxation and minimal compensation imposed by Baron El fostered deep resentment among the inhabitants. Seeking to free themselves from the Baron’s control, Edenvale attempted to secede and become self-governing. In response, the Baron dispatched his men to suppress what he deemed a witch-led rebellion. The town's leader, a miller known as “The Mayor,” was cruelly crucified and disemboweled as a brutal warning.
The purges initially targeted a few suspected witches, but as paranoia grew, any woman could fall victim to accusations and execution. As the last witches were brutally murdered, a powerful witch named Corrain cast a curse upon the valley, ensuring the Baron would never claim victory. A dense, oppressive fog descended, erasing the distinction between night and day, replaced by a cyclical darkness lasting four hours.
The Crawling Rot followed—a sinister black fungus spreading rapidly and corrupting everything it touched. Victims transformed into monstrous creatures, and only heat and light could keep the Rot at bay. Those within the valley became trapped, and any who entered afterward were ensnared in the mystic mist.
Edenvale, now a place of terror and shifting reality, saw strange pockets of its past appearing intermittently. Horrors lurked within the fog, preying on unsuspecting victims. Time and distance became distorted, making maps useless and forcing travelers to stick to the road to avoid becoming lost.
Before the curse, Edenvale was a thriving community with a population of around 1,200 permanent residents. The town council, an elected body, worked alongside the Governor, the Baron’s representative. Edenvale was almost entirely self-sufficient, producing crops in excess, which it sold to other island communities. The discovery of gold, however, altered its fate dramatically. The Governor, backed by the Baron’s soldiers, dissolved the council and conscripted many townsfolk to labor in the mine. The town suffered under harsh rule until rebellion brewed.
One fateful morning, the Governor was found dead in his bed, with no sign of an intruder or weapon—witchcraft was suspected, igniting the purges. The true “Witches of Edenvale” were a small group of women using sorcery to aid their fellows, serving as midwives and healers, revered and respected.
Recently, the curse has been broken, the mist lifting to reveal the once-hidden isle. The witches, now free from the curse’s influence, can once again offer their wisdom and guidance to the people of Edenvale. The valley, while still bearing the scars of its dark past, looks toward a future of renewal and hope.
Westhaven
Westhaven is a quaint fishing village that has long supplied the island with an abundance of fresh fish. Nestled against the rugged coastline, single-story thatched cottages cling precariously to the cliffs, creating a picturesque yet sturdy community. Upper Reaping
Upper Reaping is a village renowned for its skilled miners and stonemasons, whose fine stonework adorns Castle Ehl, Grey Port, and the Barrows. This village is also notable for being home to the only enclave of Stone Djinn on the island, the only non-human race present. The presence of the Stone Djinn has added a unique cultural and mystical dimension to Upper Reaping, making it a fascinating place to visit and live.
The village itself is a hive of activity, with the sounds of chisels and hammers echoing through the narrow streets. The stoneworkers of Upper Reaping are highly respected, their craft passed down through generations. Their expertise in shaping and carving stone has made the village an indispensable resource for the entire island.

Lower Reaping This small port is the oldest habitation on Regal Isle. Originally the place where dead nobles would be brought from Sabravar to be interred in the Barrows. Still home to an overly ornate gothic jetty and road that leads to the Barrows, it has been a long time (60 years) since it last received a boat from Sabravar. The population has dwindled to less than a dozen in recent times. Wights have been a problem of late ranging down from the Barrows in to Little Reaping.

However, it has been 60 years since the port last received a boat from Sabravar, and the population has dwindled to less than a dozen in recent times.
In recent years, the village has faced the troubling presence of wights, spectral beings that have started to range down from the Barrows, haunting the already dwindling village and adding to its air of eerie abandonment.
Despite its small size, Lower Reaping does offer a place for weary travelers to rest.

Witches of Edenvale
A collection of all female Shamans were actually a small group of women who used sorcery to aid their fellows. They acted as midwives for many and were treated with reverence and respect.
Headhunters
Some of the local folk of Regal Isle have degenerated into tribes of cannibals. The typical daub themselves with black and White paint and shave their heads into topknots or Mohican’s. They worship ancient Pagan gods and see strength alone as a sign of leadership. The might is right culture has caused the head-hunters to degenerate even faster due to some of the bad decisions made by their leaders.
Miners of Blackrock
When a mine goes too deep sometimes something enters the mines, cursing anyone working there. They are transformed into psychopathic killers. Typical clad in in a miner’s helmet, respirator, leather coats, work boots and wielding a pickaxe in one hand and a glowing lantern in the other. When injured a black ichor seeps from the wound and when killed the leather collapses wetly to the ground.
