A Day in the Life...

Tales of Yore

Mily had just turned ten years old when she heard the yells outside. she'd ran to the window and saw a group of people fighting on the street outside. There was a flash of light, a loud boom and the next thing Mil knew she was laying on the floor. Her ears rang and she was covered in tiny cuts from the glass that had shattered in the window panes.

That was nine years ago, she now stood in the courtyard at The Society, took a breath and began the incantation to create a Fire Bolt. She lost the threads part way through but determind she started again. Heat began to course through her hand and a beam of white hot fire shot from her palm and slammed into the target 50 feet away. The loud crack and black mark left behind meant she had finally learned how to cast Fire Bolt.

She'd spent the last 3 years studing magic as an apprentice with The Society and had now earned her Journeyman rank. This meant she was now free to stay and continue her studies or explore the world in persuit of lost knowledges. Her bag was already packed, first a few days at home with her parents then a coach ride to Marivel where she planned to spend at least a few weeks and see what that brought.

Having journied to Marivel Mily had eventually joined a rather inexperienced group of Adventurers. She spent the next 4 years travelling, exploring and pillaging. She become an extreemly competant Mage and an integral part of the team. She'd loved and lost her companions along the way but here she was back in Vale City she'd visited her folks and then having been summoned by the Society was recruited along with her Party to hunt down a "Rogue Warlock" by the The Society. They'd eventually tracked the Warlock to an in just down the road from where her family home was. The Warlock had then detonated a Source Stone as he cast a Translocation spell, nothing appeared to happen, the Warlock fled down the street, Mily persued and determined not to allow the Warlock escapre cast a Fire Ball at him. The plume of flame, the boom from the explosion shattered all of the windows in the surrounding street. Mily approached the charred corpse on the ground and looked to her right, her own home wit hthe windows and shutters completely gone, a small shattered corpse lay in the room. Mily moved quickly "Ned" she called aloud. The Hauflin Cleric of the Lantern Bearer her friend a long time companion ran over and saw the body of the child. "Fuck.... Mily that looks like you as a kid?!?" He steped forward and called upon the grace of the Lantern Bearer, a bright golden light suffused the child Mily's body. The worst of the wounds began to heal and the shards of glass were expelled from the body. The child although had small cuts would now survive the almost mortal wounds she'd had. Mily sighed turned to Ned and thanked him "Owe you a pint buddy". He nodded and the left.

Once they returned to the Society it didnt take long for them to find they had somehow been shunted back in time, with no way to return stayed together but travelled away from Vale City, Albion and even Weyland. The stories of the Diablo War in Westcrown lured them to even further adventures.
