Tirnanog
Tirnanog, more commonly known as Tir or the Fey Realm, is often referred to as the Dual Land. This mystical realm, where time stands still, is the enchanting home to all things Fey. The unique nature of Tir is reflected in its split geography: one side bathed in eternal radiant sunlight and the other shrouded in perpetual moonlight. This dichotomy gives rise to a land of contrasts, where light and dark coexist in a delicate balance.
The Fey Realm is the origin of numerous mystical beings, including the Ael, Boggarts, Duer, Dryads, Fairies, Hobs, Pixies, Firbolgs, and Redcaps, among many others. Each of these creatures brings its own unique qualities and magic to the land, contributing to the rich tapestry of life in Tir. The inhabitants of Tir are known for their enchanting beauty, their mastery of magic, and their deep connection to the natural world.
Tir is most closely connected to the realms of Weyland and Ostland, with magical pathways and portals linking these lands. The influence of Tir can be felt in these neighboring realms, as the magic and mystique of the Fey Realm seep into their cultures and traditions.
One of the most notable features of Tir is the City of Light, also known as "Othrond o Galad." This magnificent city is home to the High Ael and the Seelie Court. The Seelie Court is renowned for its benevolence and wisdom, and it is protected by the Trooping Fey, who are loyal guardians of the realm. The City of Light is a place of unparalleled beauty and grandeur, where the seat of the Blood Queen is found. The Blood Queen rules with grace and justice, ensuring harmony and prosperity in the Seelie Court.
In stark contrast to the City of Light is Umbra, the domain of the Dark Ael and the Unseelie Court. Umbra is a place of shadow and mystery, protected by the Hunt. The Unseelie Court is known for its more enigmatic and unpredictable nature, often associated with mischief and trickery. The Seat of the Ash, the ruling seat of the Unseelie Court, is found here. The ruler of the Unseelie Court commands respect and fear, wielding power with a more ruthless and cunning approach.
Between these two realms lies the Eternal Forest, home to the Wild Ael. This vast and ancient forest is situated along the terminator line that separates the realms of eternal sunlight and eternal moonlight. The Wild Ael are fierce and independent, living in harmony with the natural world and protecting the delicate balance of the forest. The Eternal Forest is a place of untamed beauty and raw magic, where the boundaries between the Seelie and Unseelie realms blur.
The duality of Tir is a reflection of its inhabitants and their varying natures. The radiant sunlight fosters growth, warmth, and benevolence, while the perpetual moonlight nurtures mystery, subtlety, and intrigue. Together, they create a realm that is both enchanting and perilous, a place where beauty and danger coexist.
