Aftermath of the Tower

Experience
May 17, 2024

Forewarned, Rhogar Merrygold waited with his acolyte, a few of the Leilon Guard and a aa8d26c5-bf37-4d1f-a49a-42f6fdef944c.jpg handful of the sturdiest settlers he could muster, awaiting the drop of the petrification aura emanated by the Planar Beacon. It was only yesterday that one of the most enigmatic members of the The Leilon...Some?, the Fey called Arya had informed them that the ones trapped in stone were in fact conscious. The thought has kept him up at night, imagining the suffering they must be experiencing so he was ready to anything that was needed to save them.

The tower above him shook, dark clouds swirling around. A few of the gathered settlers started running but a sharp cry from Sergeant Gori froze them in their tracks. All the gathered folks looked up at the tower, listening to the sounds of a battle that would confound any to think of. But eventually it stopped, a dreadful cry from some sort of monster heralding the end. It was then that chaos broke loose.

Screams filled the area as the everything that was petrified was suddenly not so.
Rhogar Merrygold nodded and all the of the folks he gathered threw a wetted cloth forward. The bundles arced and fell to the ground, unaltered. Knowing that the area was safe the Leilon settlers charged forward attempting to aid several figures who were moving. One settler stopped and became sick as it was evident that many of the now unpetrified people were horribly broken, missing limbs and riddled with wounds where cracks existed before. One figure, in better condition than most, looked around and then charged the nearby hill. Finding the rocky ground it bashed it's own skull out in a desperate attempt to end it's suffering. Rhogar Merrygold instructed the volunteers to restrain any they could, until he could rush over and administrate aid.

He quickly realized that most were beyond any help he could provide so making the difficult decision he prioritized the ones he could help. In the end it was only four people, three
Humanand a Dwarf, were taken to the Shrine of Lathander, where Rhogar Merrygold had set up an emergency bedding. He did not know if they would survive the night but he would try his best.
