Shizuko after finally sending the last few documents of what intel she had gathered in the last mission to the high command. Was finally out of her stealth uniform and in soft, comfortable civil clothes after what feels like hours.
Shizuko thought to herself that now it was the perfect time to-
A loud voice interrupted Shizuko’s thoughts as she walked out of the armoury room.
“Hey Shizuko, I need someone to test this new device for me?”
She was startled as she looked around for the person who had just spoke and found Matthew who was the only person in the hallway other than her. Slowly Shizuko spoke after calming herself down and processed the question.
“Sure but what type of device, Matthew?”
“Just a new non lethal weapon I just made. Should take a few minutes at least.”
“Why didn’t you say that from the beginning and where did you came from?”
“Did I scare a member of an highly secretive detachment?”
“Haha very funny Matthew. You are lucky that I left my weapons back in the armoury.”
“How many bullets, Shizuko?”
“Remember that clown thing that laughed when it’s dark?”
“Yea… didn’t it get- OH! Oh damn.”
“Yep”
“Oh uhh well then…”
“To the lab I suppose?”
“Oh definitely. Should be relatively a short walk away.”
As Shizuko and Matthew walked in the endless maze like white hallways, Shizuko took a closer look at Matthew. Matthew was just wearing the standard lab uniform for scientists with his lanyard and ID card around his neck. He has a wristwatch and is also holding on to a clipboard. Nothing interesting to note as she looked away from Matthew and to the hallways. The duo stopped in front of a pair of mechanical doors with a sign on top of it with the words 'Lab 3' on it.
“Finally, the lab. And just a second Shizuko I just need to open the door.”
“Mhm.”
Matthew held his ID card to the door scanner. The door scanned the card after a few seconds the scanner flashed green. The mechanical door opened allowing them to enter the lab.
The duo entered the lab. Shizuko looked around the lab it was messy with test tubes having different liquids in each of them and in different quantities. She was expecting other scientists but found that it was strangely empty.
Shizuko walked over to a table near the left side. The table was messy with paper and prototype devices placed randomly. Shizuko then turned to face Matthew.
“Where’s the other scientists, Matthew?”
“Not really sure but I think it’s lunch break for them since it’s close to half past eleven I think? Wait let me check.”
Matthew looks at his wristwatch.
“Yea, it’s around that time.”
“Alright.”
Matthew looks at his clipboard and flips a page up before speaking.
“So here’s the run-“
Shizuko’s hand leaned on the table and a faint click noise was heard. Slowly Shizuko lifted her hand and made a faint fox squeak as she faded out of reality.
Matthew looked at where Shizuko was and panicked when he didn’t see her. He glances around his surroundings wide eyed and then over at the table Shizuko leaned on. Matthew saw a rectangular device with big red button on the middle of it. Slowly a realisation came to him.
