Area 3 is the stairway that descends into the dungeon where criminals are kept. Typical cells are 10' by 10' with sturdy wooden doors. There are other cells with doors reinforced with iron for those with exceptional strength.

Area 4 is a general supply room that holds goods used by the entire palace. Such things as bolts of clothes, tools, and furniture can be found here. Foodstuffs are not held here, being close to the kitchens.

Area 5 is the guardpost for the dungeon, where soldiers taking prisoners to the cells below enter the prison information to the guard at the desk. It is also a a lookout post so that no one can enter or leave the dungeons without passing before the guards.

Area 6 is a statue of Fesuphet, a legendary soldier under the service of Andropinis. Centuries ago, Fesuphet led a force of 50 soldiers guarding a valuable caravan winding it's way across the region to Raam against a raiding force from Tyr nearly 600 strong. Due to cunning, tactics, and brilliant use of natural features, the Fesuphet led warriors defeated Balic the Tyr force. For his bravery and skill, Andropinis publicly awarded Fesuphet with The King's Star, a medal earned by only a dozen people in the history of Balic, and was presented a statue in the White Palace barracks.

Area 7 (both of them) are doors that provide access to the colonnade that surrounds the barracks. Two guards patrol the colonnade day and night, and the doors are in clear view of the guardpost (Area 5.)

Area 8 is the mess hall, enough to accomodate eighty soldiers as a time. The room contains two long tables with twenty chair to either side of each table. All the furnishings are rather plain with plenty of cutmarks from stray knives.

Area 9 is the kitchen, which connects to the mess hall. Two cauldrons for boiling soup and broth are the dominant feature of the room, along with two large stoves. The guards share the cooking duties, not trusting any outside chef to serve them their food, especially being in such an important, high profile building as the White Palace. Most food is stored in the pantry (see next section), though fresh meat is suspended from hooks at the north end of the room, with drains beneath to drain away the blood.

Area 10 is the pantry, containing dozens of shelves of food. Most are in form of dried meats, flour, weak ale. This room is normally locked, with the key shifting from soldier to soldier, depending on whose week it is to cook.

Area 11 is the armory. This door is locked during the night, but left open during the day. The commander of the guards in area 12 has the key. All types of weapons can be found here, most in excellent condition. During the conquest of the White Palace, the guards were overwhelmed, and much of the weapons were captured.

Area 12 is the commander of the guards chamber. This room is only slightly nicer than the normal barracks, with a small amount of trophies from previous campaigns. Aarevis is the current commander (hm F12 NG) who keeps the barracks area running in top shape.

Area 13 is another sleeping area for the soldiers. It is identical to areas 1 and 2, though slightly smaller - it currently holds thirty soldiers. Area 14 is the training area for the guards. The room contains fighting dummies for close range combat and targets for long range combat. Practice weapons stand in racks along each of the east and west walls. Both organized training and sparring matches between off duty guards takes place here.
