Forged by powerful defilers in the Blue Age, the key gives one access to the plane of darkness – also known as the Hollow.

The darkness is both literal and metaphorical - a state of being that pervades any creature unfortunate enough to find themselves in its eternal night.

Raajat has been imprisoned there and ancient horrors beyond the imagination of the most people also lurk in the inky dark.

Using the key is dangerous as things, horrifying things, could escape from the plane of darkness into our world.

Turning the key clockwise locks someone into the plane. Turning it counterclockwise releases them from the plane.

The key of darkness is recharged by the moon, as such it can only be used once before needing a lunar month to recharge.
