The Insighters is an agency of elite magic users from Aegis whose mission is to investigate and take control of magically dangerous areas and artifacts that have surpassed a certain danger level.
Each member of the Insighters hones their unique skills for the sole purpose of conquering the arcane. The agency is made up of elves & humans from around the world. The majority of the Insighters are criminals convicted of having used arcane magic or children of Nexenturm nobility that once controlled Aegis, with the rest being children of Aegis nobility presented as an act of loyalty. Most parties of Insighters consist of a ratio of two criminals to one 'guard'. A Guard is an Insighter that is usually trained from birth. To determine a criminal in a party, a notch is cut into the ear.
This agency is only meant to be used as a last resort as they are the only group within the Aegis Ascendancy that is allowed to use arcane magic. Because of this, its presence & knowledge is mostly kept to a minimum within the city of Aegis. Known in elvish as "Rhylisar: "Eyeseekers"
