History
Cathal was created right before the Primordial Deities left Eceledus. In order to give humanity a chance in a world without their gods, they created 3 cities in their likeness, one such city was Cathal, a city representing balance.
From afar
From afar the city looks like a massive tower made of rock and metal. Massive stones are stacked on top of one another at angles that look impossible, even with magic from some of the greatest wizards, and they stretch high into the sky. At the top of these rocks are 4 large metal discs that seem to hover in place using some unknown force.
Layout
The city is split up into different sections called “divisions”. The city consists of 4 divisions, the fist division is a large circular platform hovering above the rocks that consist mainly of housing for the majority of the citizens.
The second division is above the first as a floating disc slightly smaller than the one under it. In order to keep the first division bright and sunny, the underside of the second division is enchanted to look like the sky and project daylight. The second division is primarily businesses, offices, merchants, and lower level government buildings.
The third division floats above the second, slightly smaller than it, and is home to the top level government buildings. The third division is also home to the Lords Manors, large buildings where each of the Lords reside and work.
The 4th division floats beneath the first and is not a well maintained division. While every other division has artificial daylight provided to them via enchantments the 4th division isn't as lucky. Parts of the enchantments fail while other parts hardly work. This division is home to the unruly and unsightly citizens and most of them are used to lack of sunlight. Citizens of this division aren't often welcome on any of the other divisions and as such, they have a lot of necessities on their division such as shops, homes, and very mediocre services like first aid and the such.
