Sanctum
Located at the heart of the Hallowed Forest is the druidic village of Sanctum, home to the druids in charge of keeping Silvanus’s relic safe. All manners of creatures live here, Humans, Elves, Gnomes, etc. They are all druids and are all tasked with keeping the relic safe. They are led by an Archdruid named Fayra who acts as the high priestess and leader of Sanctum.
Anyone who manages to get into Sanctum is met with a village built into nature. Huts line the tops of the tree with vine and wood bridges connecting them. Homes and buildings can be seen among them as well as lining the massive tree trunks. At the center of the town is an open field where more buildings rest. At the center of the village, built into the largest tree, is an opening to some sort of building. Silvanus’s symbol of a simple leaf can be seen everywhere in the village, decorating houses, flower beds, and armors.
At the entrance of Sanctum are 4 large statues made of thick vines and rocks that act as guards for the village. They have thorns sprouting from their body, carry a spear and shield and stand at 10ft tall. Anytime someone who enters the village who doesn't belong, the statues come alive attempting to hold the person coming in via hold person in a cone formation.
The Basilica
Located within the largest tree at the center of the village is the Basilica. It is a temple dedicated to the Oak Father and home to the current Archdruid. Within the Basilica is also a secret door that leads down into the tunnels that lead to the relic.
When entering the Basilica you enter through a large, doorless, archway covered in vines that move when the Archdruids staff comes near. The archway leads into the center of the tree where the floor is carved out of stone and the artwork carved into it depicts the history of Eceledus. Starting at the center of the room, the floor shows images of a sphere of raw magic with flares of magic spiraling off it. The flares spiral around the room and lead to the next image where the flares now spiral back in on the core and start hardening to form a shell around this sphere of magic. The pictures lead onto the right wall where 9 amorphous beings of light seem to breathe life into the now solid sphere of magic. As you follow the pictures to the wall behind you, where you entered from, you can see at the bottom of the world primitive societies starting to get their bearings and starting some of the first civilizations. At the top of the world is a large city, the first city. On the left wall you can see wars breaking out across the world as well as 9 more amorphous beings of dark light come in and fuel the fires of these wars. On the wall facing opposite of the entrance, right above the altar, you can see these two groups of light now fighting one another, causing the world to fracture and fall apart. At the top of the world, descending from the heavens, 3 luminous beings of light come down and repair the world. These 3 beings of light then send away the 18 amorphous beings, scattering them out into the cosmos leaving only a stone table behind. As you follow the artwork upwards onto the ceiling you can see the world repaired and humanity beginning to start anew.
