Artificers Guild
The Artificers Guild was created to help advance Libreum. They are responsible for creating the artificial moon that provides light to the world at night.
Created in 110 AC in the Candle Light Delta, the Artificers Guild was created by a dwarf named Gwenavid. It was created out of necessity, while the people of Libreum had some magic thanks to the overflow of magic from the core of Eceledus, there were still dangers out in the wild lands. The guild created basic armor and weapons, they created gadgets and gizmos to help people in their daily lives and push along civilization.
The beginning of the guild's life was rough. Dwarves weren't well respected in the early days post cataclysm and because of that not many people even bothered to give the guild the time of day. It wasn't until the guild somehow created the artificial moon that provided light in the dangerous nights that people started to take notice of them and the things they were doing and how they helped the society of Libreum.
The continent of Libreum at night is a dark place, with no moon or stars in it’s sky traveling at night was almost guaranteed death. To help alleviate this problem and make the night safer for everyone, the Guild created an artificial moon. Imbuing a massive metal sphere with various spells of light the project took over 5 years and was finally launched into the night sky 116 AC. The raising of the moon gave the Artificers Guild the credit and merit that they needed to begin spreading across all over Libreum.
After the raising of the moon and the reputation of the guild skyrocketing they began to hold positions of power around Libreum. They started out as smiths for various Peace Guard outposts and slowly began to climb the ranks. The highest rank they hold is Lord of Mechanics. The current Guild Master is Zendove Undercrest.
Every year, The Candle Light Delta, the city where the Artificers Guild was created, holds a festival called “The Festival of the Moon''. Traditionally held at night, white spherical lanterns magically float throughout the town while people gather to have fun, eat, listen to music, and have fun safely in the night in honor of the times when such a thing was impossible.
