Day Break

Day break is the organization created to overthrow The Coven and seize control of Ntropy and change the way of life for the residents.


History

Created in the year 626 PC they consist of the soldiers of a previous civil war that was swiftly defeated in the year 620 PC by Coven member Octave. He single handedly defeated the civil uprising on his own delivering a devastating moral blow to the residents.


They are led by Jorfir Grimfeet, an old male dwarf who was second in command in the previous civil uprising. He has created Day Break in an attempt to stage another coupe and overthrow the Coven. The beginning of Day Break was rough with very few people wanting to join after the humiliating defeat of the previous coupe, the only members to join initially were Jorfir, Tray who is second in command, and a handful of soldiers from the previous coupe who still had plenty of determination. The name Day Break comes from the idea that once the Coven is defeated this eternal night will end and day light will finally shine down on this country. Their logo is a golden gauntlet with a sun radiating from behind it, this is also tattooed onto all members, usually in spots hidden by clothing and sometimes even magically hidden.


Day Break operates on the isle of Trei Orașe in the south, using the water as a natural barrier. Since the Coven is preoccupied their counts have been attempting to take down Day Break. Count Volkmar has been the main Count trying to dismantle Day Break since he is stationed the closest to Trei Orașe and Day Break's hideout.

HQ

The base for DayBreak is a sprawling network of interconnected buildings and makeshift structures, nestled within the heart of the island. As you approach, you immediately notice the cacophony of sounds echoing through the tunnels. Laughter, chatter, and the clatter of tools create a lively symphony, highlighting the industrious nature of this hub.


The passageways are lined with a mishmash of tarp tents, patched together with rough ropes and salvaged materials. Each tent is a mini-shop or home. The tents vary in size and shape, some barely more than a few crates forming a shelter, while others are larger, accommodating more extensive tools.


Sheet metal buildings, hastily assembled with rivets and rusty nails, stand side by side with the tents, offering a more permanent presence. These metal structures have a utilitarian charm, with chipped paint and dented corners, showcasing the humble origins of their construction.


The walkways between these structures are a labyrinth of worn stone, packed earth, and uneven cobblestones. The ground is well-trodden, and you can see the marks of countless feet that have traversed these paths, creating an intricate web of footprints.


Dim, flickering lanterns hang from makeshift hooks, casting warm, subdued lighting that bounces off the rugged walls, creating an inviting ambiance despite the modest materials. The air carries a medley of scents—spices, charred metal, fresh bread, and the tang of herbs from the alchemical stalls.


In the center of the complex, stands the headquarters of DayBreak, a pragmatic yet resilient building constructed from reclaimed materials. This central structure is a meeting point, a place of planning and coordination for the members of DayBreak, and a hub for information and resources. It's a two-story structure, with wooden planks and salvaged metal forming the walls and roof. Flickering lanterns, suspended from the support beams, cast warm and welcoming light that contrasts with the rough exterior.

Orik is a jovial and rotund human with a ruddy complexion, evidence of his love for his own brews.
