Chiroptera
Home of the Sanguine race it lies some 309 light years from Earth. It orbits around a Class Y Brown Dwarf Star.
Chiroptera’s year is significantly shorter than Earth at 111 days in length. Chiroptera receives only 15% of the light that earth does.
Although Chiroptera is a little larger than earth its core is slightly less dense giving 0.5 gravity.
The axil tilt is virtually none existent causing a consistent weather system.
There is a thin atmosphere but it is still a 24% oxygen and 65% nitrogen mix but with a higher carbon dioxide level of 6%, if it wasn’t for the lower visible light from Chiropteras brown dwarf the planet would be uninhabitable; however the atmosphere has a high humidity and is warmer than earth.
Chiroptera is classed as a Greenhouse world with dense flora and carbon based fauna, most life is of the insect clade. However a few mammalian species do exist of which the dominant sentient species the Sanguine rose. A sentient race of humanoids they share a similar appearance to humans however these have also caused unrest amongst humanity as they are the archetypal “Vampires” of fictional gothic horror.
Sanguine’s live in large family units called Covens, they are presided over by an Elder and his immediate family who are called Nobles.
The Sanguine are the newest of the space faring species and have found themselves a niche with many underworld groups.
A RipGate was built but is controlled by the joint Union/Covenant alliance and passage is strictly controlled, there are no civilians on board the Gate Station.
