Entry.064 - Paths

  • the group assembles again after Unknown and Zesolis come out of the hole they fell in
  • they bring some items back into the group, a map of Central Drimea and an enchanted envelope, that can send letters through long distances (via magic!)
  • make their way back to Fala Taesi
  • Sanosch gets a telepathic message from a "sending" spell, that his mother is getting married again, she will wed a baron soon and invites Sanosch to join at March 20th
  • back in Fala taesi, the group finds mourning elves and Smellyfeet Joe together with other members of the Crew of the Floating Seamen
    • smelly tells them that they got invited to the city by the elves
  • Sanosch takes his horse and travels to the ship, telling Baraka to be ready to depart at any time from now on
    • baraka proposes that for the future, the crew can generate income by doing idle missions to not waste time and resources
  • the group takes some time off while waiting for a council meeting to end after they learned that Shalia Olaran, the Mother of Fala died a horrible death a few days ago, screaming, vines and maggots coming out of her face-holes - but in the end whispering "thank you"
  • Boxor talks to the villagers to learn more about how death is experienced for the elves, learns that the population is controlled heavily, and in order to bear a child, another elf has to take "Nythaluna", the last journey, which ends in death
  • Shalia should also be taken to Khroma, a demi-titan that gives the dying elves a seed that transforms them into the wood woads and treants that roam the forest, guarding it even after death
  • after the council meeting is over, the group meets with some familiar druids (Allir Oakenwind - Archdruid of the Coast; Nonna Bluesky - Archdruid of the Forest) as well as some new faces (Venra Moonsong - Archdruid of Moon & Dreams; Lumaric Fallgrove - Archdruid of the Shepherd)
  • Venra seems to be the mentor of Ako, the half-orc girl the group rescued a few days ago
  • The council tells the group of a terrorist attack on Allanar, the home of the druid circles of the moon & dreams
    • in the attack, the archdruid of the moon, Ludan Elmcrown, died - and is temporarily replaced by Venra Moonsong
    • the attacker was a pale Tiefling with devil eyes, a member of a group/cult named "Hand of Morlin"
    • he was able to free another member of the Hand of Morlin, "Ezekiel", who was imprisoned in Allanar for a very long time, put into a magical sleep by the druids
    • the archdruids fear that the hand of morlin wishes to assemble again and bring chaos into the world, like their prophet "Morlin" ~1000 seasons ago, who somehow brought the "Age of Darkness" upon the world, where the living races had to flee underground into the underdark  - until they someday came back and claimed their land again, in "The Ascend"
    • not a lot is known about Morlin or the cult that works in his name, at least not by the elves
    • the other members of the hand of morlin (= total of 5, called "the fingers") are being imprisoned by other nations, one of them being Zeantis, one in the far north in Kaldrbiǫð, trapped in the permafrost
    • the elves think that the next target will most likely be Zeantis, so Nonna Bluesky will teleport there and warn the Zeantii - and offers to take some of the players with her
  • Meanwhile, Venra talks to Seidis about the circle of the moon, and that she is willing to take her in, if the does her "Nefanor", her first journey, to the Titan Badjir in the druid valley that gives young druids their ability to wildshape
    • Mikasdre also has a private moment - with her deity - Ambrotan, in the form of a small snow owl, who shares some intel on this "Ezekiel" that was freed from Allanar
  • Alas will also travel into the druid valley with the dead body of his mother, to bring her to the demi-titan Khroma
