Entry.105 - A Happy New Face

Reporting back to the Candlekeep, the Inconvenience Removal Agency leaves the curious Archmage Khelem in the Halls of Arcana with some of the artefacts they have taken from Abraxas hideout in the Grave of Horas. One of them, the smooth black cube, was identified as a Memorandum, a very rare arcane construct forged that appears to be very difficult to forge - and open. It seems to be some sort of memory storage of Abraxas, containing multiple pocket dimensions reflecting events of his life.

The group joins General Reilgar in the prison room where Abraxas remains only to be met with bad news once more. The pale tiefling with the devil eyes appears to be a regular sleeping tiefling now. Next to the unconscious prisoner kneels a young-ish looking half-orc wearing the symbol of Zios' Blessing. He is introduced as Happy, a local cleric that Reilgar warmly recommends to the IRA. Together, they theorize that Abraxas soul might be able to travel between bodies, as one of the prison guards cannot be found anymore, shortly after the prisoner collapsed. Once the tiefling awakes, he seems to confirm the theory somewhat by revealing to know nothing about an Abraxas, only that his name is Guemir and his memories stop as he entered the ruins of Dreya earlier this winter. On the floor near the place where Abraxas collapsed stand the words "ACCEPT CHAOS OR ENFORCE ORDER" written with blood.

Shortly after, it is discovered that Archmage Cassius Caecilianus, the keeper of Ajasis prison, which holds the last member of the Hand of Morlin, has been violently killed in his safe room, the prison amulet gone. The furious Reilgar starts a bigger investigation together with Bruri, while the rest of the group is dismissed to rest, which they do after some extensive shopping.

Fresh for the next day, Flo, Jeff, Drem, Gawrth and Happy awake to a message glyph on their entry gate, showing an astral image of the new Abraxas, a human with long white hair, pale skin and black eyes with red pupils. The message relays his words to the group: "Congratulations on defeating a dragon and destroying my favourite hideout. I will now consider you a real threat, you should be proud. Enjoy your pityful success. It doesn't matter. Will you join us on Avalon when the last snow has fallen?".

Abraxas message brings Happy to reveal a vision that was shared with him by his deity Zios. He saw a big construct, a metal tower standing in a field of melting snow. There was some kind of battle between two groups, one of which was the IRA together with Happy.

The first half of the day is spent by walking through town, visiting General Reilgar once more to reveal the contents of Abraxas message, and to find out about the still underway iron army. There are also rumours in town, that "Abraxas sends a personal golem slave to each citizen as a gift".

The next stop is Archmage Khelem in the Halls of Arcana, who gives the group various weaponized peanut products to counter Marutuk. He also reveals that he may have found a way to open the Memorandum and gives the group a quest to obtain a very rare mineral called Green Bilurium, of which a source may be protected by the Taesi druids.

And while the IRA now awaits the arrival of the Iron Army, their fallen comrade Ken is being preserved in the HQ, awaiting a proper burial...
