The group enters the longhouse on the Bay of Ghosts where the majority of the pirate cove resides in, currently feasting together in the great hall. The intrusion is first met with silence, until a male orc that is missing one arm speaks up, recognizing Happy as his long lost brother Kalrith. The one armed orc presents himself as Huuk, first mate of the pirate captain Cabuga, that Jeff was tasked to capture or kill. After the ice is broken, the pirates welcome the new friends into their midst, providing food and a strange tasting ale, exchanging stories.
Meanwhile, Happy gets to hear about his forgotten past for the first time as his big brother Huuk tells him about how they both were born by Hacuum and Shah, two former half-orc slaves that escaped from the slave camp named Shulong Beach before their birth. At a young age, the boys were kidnapped by "Snake People" that wanted to sacrifice them to their god, the Whisperer. Apparently, Happy (aka Kalrith) was fed with some sort of poison that invoked a terrible rage within him, all in preparation for the sacrificial ritual. Hacuum and Shah were barely able to rescue their children from the snake people in the Churning Tide, which resulted in the death of their mother and the loss of Huuk's arm.
After that, Kalrith was never the same, being filled with unnatural rage. Shortly after, Hacuum took the restrained Kalrith and left Huuk with the pirates, while he searches for a cure. This was the last time Huuk ever saw his little brother. When Hacuum eventually returned - alone - he told Huuk that he left Kalrith in the care of a healer, but that the son will probably never return to the pirate cove.
The group also makes contact with Cabuga, the Devil of Cadacho, the blue skinned half-orc pirate captain with broken horns. They reveal to her that Jeff was sent by the Lord of Destiny to kidnap or kill her or Jeff's soul is forfeit. She agrees to help Jeff break the devil contract, like she did as well in the past. She names various possibilities: find out the source of the curse of this island that may be powerful enough to stop the contract, or be killed under specific ritualistic circumstances that should be able to break free from the contract. Jeff decides for the latter.
After a good night of drinking and rest on the The Floating Seamen that they called into the bay, the group readies themselves for a preparation quest for Jeffs death ritual: retrieve a specific kind of dirt from the cursed island, which should increase the chances of breaking free from the devils grip when dying. Meanwhile, the pirate captains start discussing plans to raid the Shulong Beach slave camps in Southern Drimea, to not only free Hacuum that has been recaptured by the slavers a few month ago, but also give Jeff the opportunity to steal the Soul Anchor from the head of the slave camp, a powerful artefact that grants protection from death.
Entering the wild jungle of Cadacho to retrieve dirt, the group makes contact with various skeletal animals that are also affected by the island's curse of undeath. Drem manages to capture a skeletal bird for his new daughter, but later loses it when the group is ambushed by a T-Rex that doesn't seem like a big challenge. Until an even bigger and partially skeletal T-Rex joins the combat, biting off the head of the smaller dinosaur. The giant creature deals heavy damage to some of the combatants and even swallows Happy shortly before Jeff, the new Edgelord, punches the dinosaur out of existence into another dimension. While Happy uses every healing at his disposal to survive in the stomach of the beast, he is also able to kill it from the inside, seconds before Jeff brings the now dead creature back into their dimension.
After a short rest and some accusations of how dangerous this maneuver was, the group continues their travel to the target location which they reach shortly after. While the others shovel dirt into crates and barrels on their carpet of slow flying, Drem stands guard and detects a big thunderstorm coming their way. When the storm closes in, the dirt shoveling comes to an end and the group starts making their way back to the bay of ghosts. But half way, the storm clouds catch up, darkening the sky above and showering the travellers with cold rain. Exhausted, the group enters the unpleasant growing mist that gathers in the bad weather, only to be ambushed by Shadowclaws that grab Happy, pulling him into the darkness. But when he casts magical light, the shadow creatures retreat and the group is able to safely make it back to the coast, wet, cold and exhausted.
While the Crew of the Floating Seamen puts the dirt onto the ship, the group joins the tactical planning for the assault on Shulong Beach...
