Florian and Gawrth encounter a fort full of angry Songblade guards that are after them, so they decide to take shelter in a small shop labelled The Selling Station. After defending themselves against the guards pouring into the building, Gawrth decides to retreat out of a back window. The elves seem to have anticipated this tactic and ambush the big crocodile human, knocking him out - while Flo manages to somewhat silently escape over the fort's wall via some short distance teleportations and his athletic legs. He takes refuge between some big stone pillars lined up on the shore, connecting the fort and the lighthouse.
Meanwhile, Happy and Huuk are being brought into the North Camp, where half of the orcish slaves are imprisoned. Happy is able to dispel the enchantment of his chains undetected just as the whole camp assembles to begin their walk to the Valyssa Mines. On their way to the entrance to the mines where the South Camp slaves already begin to exit for the shift change, loud noises from the Fort in the east leaves the guards nervous. They argue for some time whether to take the slaves back to the camp or continue the usual schedule. As more and more guards fly off towards the fort, the songblade finally reaches an accord and just as they start escorting the North Camp slaves back to their camp, Happy and Huuk take the moment to break their chains and run towards their father from the south camp that they spotted earlier. Happy is able to teleport his family and some bonus slaves into the cargo hold of the Floating Seamen, reading from the teleportation scroll that was hidden in Huuks fake arm.
Gawrth awakens to the sight of Arnold, Champion of Satonir, that he called in before the encounter with the guards. He and Flo called in his favour, asking him to free Gawrth from the elvish guards. And Arnold overdelivered. Blood and corpses litter the streets of Fort Valyssa as Gawrth says goodbye to the giant champion. Everyone was killed, even townsfolk and merchants. Whether Smellyfeet Joe survived the fray is yet to be discovered.
Team Estate in the south also escalates their stand-off with the Lord of the Theyarus estate as Drem shoots a poisoned bolt into the archmage the first chance he gets. The bolt hits and the poison unfolds the beginning of a long paralysis, before the high ranking elf can even say a word. Drem gathers the hostages, takes them on one of the Griffin mounts towards the slave camps, while Jeff struggles a bit with the animals. In the end, he, Cabuga and Baraka are on their way towards the shore in the east.
