While Drem Greenglen rides on a griffon towards the slave camps, with the young elfish hostage tied to the animal, Jeff, Baraka and Cabuga travel by land to the east coast of Shulong Beach, together with their hostage, the gagged and paralyzed Archmage Theolas Theyarus.
Meanwhile, Gawrth awakens in Fort Valyssa after being woken up and healed by Arnold. He crawls through the corpse littered settlement towards the port and drops into the water to stay hidden, while search lights from the light house scan the area. At the same time, Florian makes his way back to the The Floating Seamen after some messages between Baraka and the others have been send around, to meet up with Happy who just teleported his brother and father into the cargo hold of the ship. Upon their reunion, Gawrth also joins the company and together they start searching for Smellyfeet Joe, who was in the guard HQ when Arnold dropped from the sky to annihilate everyone. They do find their trusty, blind navigator in the remains of the collapsed building - crushed to death by stones. After pulling the corpse back to the ship, the group finally gives in to the pleas of Drem to join him in the slave camps to free the chained orcs.
Jeff and his crew is being picked up by Cabuga's pirate ship as they join the assault of the lighthouse by the pirate fleet, who drop Jeff and Cabuga off so they can join the others.
Drem changes direction to fly towards the entry of the fort when a beam of the lighthouse suddenly targets him. Right before he can join up with Gawrth, Flo and Happy, some projectile hits the griffon, which causes Drem to fall off the animal as it flies away in panic, with the young hostage still bound to it. Combat breaks out when the Cavalier who ambushed the group is engaged. His mount is killed by the group but the inhuman hunter can escape invisibly.
After Jeff and Cabuga arrive at the battlefield and the IRA is reunited, they make their way towards the north camp, without any hostage, but a sigil ring of Theolas Theyarus. While the guards at the gates recognize Happy as one of the slaves, they seem somewhat understaffed and nervous about todays overall situation. They argue heavily about releasing the slaves in exchange for the release of Theolas. But before the talking can lead to anything, the pirate fleet in the east is able to destroy the light house, which triggers the killswitch that causes a giant shockwave of lightning to crawl through the whole of Shulong Beach...
