You delve deeper into the Memorandum and visit a memory where a young Abraxas, now a student of Amón, is left alone in the Room of Many Doors while the Lorekeeper attends an Eldercouncil. You look and relatively quickly find the information that Abraxas has been secretly searching in the absence of his teacher - The Book of Morlin:
and defeated by mortals, not us Titans.
The following was discovered about Morlin through divinations:
~ The creature was there before the first outcasts arrived on Drimea.
~ It corrupted Tharascorn into becoming the Annihilator to rid the arrivals from his primal continent.
~ Morlin was originally installed as a guard for the forbidden ocean and the secret island that should not be found
- > Who created the guardian Morlin?
- > Are there more guardians? Morlin only guards the eastern access to the island
- > What is on that island and where is it? Why is it guarded?
~ After Tharascorn was defeated and banished, Morlin made pacts with mortals to manipulate the civilization he failed to prevent.
- > Is Morlin related to the Apex or the Ancients?
~ Morlin is afraid of something he calls the Entropy.
~ 10 years before the Age of Darkness, Morlin bound parts of him to a man from Areon that walked the surface as the individual mortals think of when they hear Morlin. He granted the man immortality in return.
~ The man dug up a buried ship on Yenashj, when he emerged, he had the knowledge to build automatons, mechanical humans that he could control.~ The man built a hundred automatons, then raided Zeantis, killed many, including my mortal form.
- > The ship from the Ancestors? Or an artifact of the Ancients?
~ After the Darkness was called, Morlin’s host vanished for years until his defeat. The nameless man from Areon was destroyed.
~ I bound the essence of Morlin to the Lake of the Three Founders.
After shifting time once more, you land in the section titled "My Revelation", where you skip the memory that seems to show Abraxas moving through ancient Dreya to find the prison of Morlin. Instead, you re-live the follow-up memory "My Pact", where Abraxas confronts Morlin at the underground lake between "The Three Founders of the Titanvalley". You experience as Morlin presents a pact to Abraxas in order to make him "immortal" so he can achieve his goal of improving the lives of all mortals.
In exchange, Abraxas listens to a story of Morlin, which makes him see some truth about the Lorekeeper that he admired so much. Abraxas chose to not believe it at this point, but carries the potential of this revelation with him. Morlin helps Abraxas cut the chains of his immortal soul that bind him to his mortal body, allowing Abraxas to jump between the bodies of blood-marked individuals, but he will always carry a piece of Morlin with him from now on.
After that, you decide to skip the memory called "My Murder" where you imagine Abraxas being killed by Amon after telling him about his pact. Instead, you jump directly into the second memory of the chapter titled "His Lies": "My Devil". You experience the soul of Abraxas follow a path of blood through a forest while corpses at the side of the path whisper bad thoughts to you. The journey ends in a small tavern in some village, where you enter the body of a yellow skinned Tiefling with a broken horn that seems to have been blood-marked before.
The villagers around seem frightened of the process, and while you don't participate in the accidental slaughter that follows this, you still see it's result. The tavern burning, littered with blood and corpses. A man and his daughter come through the door and help you escape. You later find out that the man that presents himself as servant of Morlin is named Carn Fievadream, suggesting the girl must be Emba Fievadriem (aka Leylith).
You skip time once more in the Memorandum, entering the chapter titled "Our Purpose". You skip through a book of quotes that seems to establish a rough understanding of how the group that later named themselves Fingers of Morlin came to be:
"Better stay underground for now, my brother. If the Lorekeeper learns of your immortality, he will come for you."
"My daughter Emba. She is special. There has not been a true flame in our family since we came to Drimea. My family has always struggled to control the fire. That's why the genasi cast us out in the first place."
"Morlin predicts a war of terrible scale. The mortals will perish when the Titans fight. If only we had weapons to defend against the Titans."
"THE BURIED SHIP. LEFT BY YOUR ANCESTORS. SEARCH IT LIKE MY LAST HAND DID. YOU WILL FIND KNOWLEDGE THERE THAT NOT EVEN YOUR LOREKEEPER HAS."
"Listen Carn, we have to do this. It is our purpose. We can not only give the mortals a way to survive, but also eliminate suffering. This will change the world!"
"All I ask is a way for my Emba to become immortal as well. Morlin promised me that you will help us!"
"Let me introduce you to Ajasi. You will like her views on the world. You have a lot in common."
"Together, we will make the world a better place. Without the titans reign."
You decide not to waste time on a long rest and jump straight into the next memory - "Our Long Journey", in which you travel to Yenashj, the continent in the east. You see Abraxas and Ajasi on a ship, surviving a bad storm, hiking through thick jungle, passing the petrified remains of the civilization that was wiped out here in the Age of Darkness. You reach a giant lake, the size of a small ocean and excavate a hidden entrance to an underground cave system that opens up into a big, jungle filled chamber with the ruins of an ancient city. You escape some terrifying creature that you could not put your eye on and enter the pyramid in the center of the old city. Inside is a metal structure with rows and rows of metal guardians around. On the metal structure, the words "AION GENESIS" stand out and the memory ends.
When the Memorandum shifts into the chapter about the Titan Wars, you visit the memory where Abraxas and Ajasi travel to the town Dunwich where the Fievadream family lives. You watch the titan Horas rip the serpent Kathura out of the ground and throw it into the ocean far in the west, while destroying most of the village. Then the blue dragon flight, led by Elderdragon Ormr, father of Kathura, arrives shortly after, seeking vengeance against the humanoid titan. The thunderstorm they bring with them devastates the area and together, they slay Horas. After their departure, the thunderstorm remains as Abraxas and his companion search the ruins of the village for survivors. They find the Fire Genasi girl Emba, dying. Together, you re-enact the ritual that Abraxas performed on Emba to make her immortal, thus turning her into Leylith. You establish a link between her soul and the core crystal of the fallen titan - and later provide a body made from ash and earth to host her consciousness.
Finally, you visit the memory titles "My Weapons" where you find Abraxas in a research facility with his partner, a beautiful Eladrin elf, called Marutuk. You see as both work hemocraft magic into a golem body made out of dragonborn and crocodile remains. Marutuk asks Abraxas: "What should we call this piece of gore?", as you recognize the body of Gawrth.
Later, you see Abraxas piloting the body, slaying some wolves in the forest with the Crimson Souldrinker sword that he calls "my master". You watch even later as the Eladrin communicates with the body of Gawrth, theorizing that the golem has gained consciousness, possibly by the heavy usage of Abraxas, leaving behind tiny fragments of his soul each time, accumulating into a new identity.
Another fast forward happens where you watch Gawrth gain more personality, learning hemocraft to maintain his strange body, learning to fight, read and talk.
Towards the end of the memory, Gawrth stands before Abraxas, raging in disgust and anger, screaming: "ABRAXAS, I HAVE COME TO KILL YOU!", initiating a fight between the puppet and its master...
