You stepped through your Tree of Zios that you grew in the I.R.A. Headquarters and arrive on the rocky terrain of Mount Ashcloud, south-west of Zeantis. You immediately start to scout the area and find out that the volcano does not seem very active, but is still devoid of any life. You find burned boats on the coast and somewhat fresh footsteps leading into a nearby cave that you decide to enter.
The entrance of the cave looks like a naturally formed toothy maw and bears the warning "Chosen, do not fear. You are welcome. But deceivers and intruders will only find death" in primordial. The path ahead presents three challenges to anyone who dares to enter. The first is a forked path, one lit with flames, the other seemingly leading into a dead end. You decide to run through the fire and thus pass the first challenge.
The second challenge transports you into a sealed off room with a riddle. But before your air supply runs out, you are able to solve it and progress to another chamber. There you meet Threrla, a red dragonborn woman that you persuade to reveal her motivation and goals. She tells you that she was born in the Cragbow Clan in Northern Drimea, where she wasn't very happy. She lost the mercenary group she was travelling with later in a fight against a scary bat creature outside of Zeantis. Now she has dreams of fire and believes she has been chosen by the King of Ashes, to aid a grand purpose and live up to her potential.
After her monologue, she does not seem to happy with the vague answers that you give her to her questions, so becomes more weary. Following the corridor ahead, she leads you into a big lava chamber with a stone bridge that she immediately starts to cross. She whispers something into the ear of the fire elemental Blyze that guards the bridge and is allowed to cross it afterwards, passing through the legs of the fire giant Boyle.
You do not attempt to deceive the two guardians, having learned that the King of Ashes despises liars. But Blyze and Boyle do not grant you passage, as they have not been informed about any guests. You tell them about family business with Amón ("the silver one"), but even after Blyze contacts the "Queen", he insists on you taking your leave.
In an attempt to sneak by undetected, you make yourselves invisible and pass the bridge without much trace. Unfortunately, some of you fall down the edge into the lava. Being able to walk on it thanks to Drem, you run towards the guarded exit, but are detected as damage sustained by the burning lava floor breaks your concentration and you all become visible. Happy is able to command Boyle to drop her giant shields that seal off the exit, just as the two guardians start to engage in combat.
