Entry.137 - The Clappening

After killing some Hellwasps, you venture deeper into the Hellwasp Desert towards the Ruins of Embrassil.

You come upon a pit of quicksand and decide to walk a big circle around it. After this obstacle, the promised canyon, carving deep into the burning sands, opens up before you. A sign in front says something in Giant, but no one is able to read it. You decide to not go down into the canyon but travel along the edge on top. After hours of riding your mounts, you get exhausted and tired and decide to take another nap in Egbert's magnificent mansion. You part the spider-cart hanging over the edge of the canyon and have a nice diner inside the air conditioned pocket dimension.

The next day, you notice that outside of the transdimensional door, a fire storm has been ravaging while you slept. And although this storm has passed, it left a field full of fire elementals, roaming the area. You debate how to deal with this situation, as you seem trapped. In the end, Flo - aided by various spells and enchantments - goes out alone and thunderclaps for various minutes, causing a good portion of the elementals to be destroyed while the rest slowly flees the scene.

Going back on track, you look for the spider-cart, but it seems to have fallen down into the canyon. Flo spiderclimbs down and puts the vehicle-like creature back on its feet and starts to pilot it back up. The fire Remorhaz inside the canyon do not like the intruders and start spraying acid onto Flo and attempt to eat him. Together, you are able to save him and leave the defeated foes.

Some time later, riding further towards the northern volcano in the distance, you come across a giant gemstone, resting in the sand. You find out that it is likely some sort of bait from an underground creature. Happy decides to use his scroll of Imprisonment to put the monster to sleep, which works like a charm. You are able to cut off the giant gemstone and some jagged teeth sticking out of the sand.
