In the world of Orizon, "Storm's Roll" is a popular dice game among sailors. It's easy to learn yet offers a depth of strategy, ideal for those with limited leisure time.
Number of Players: 2 or more
Equipment Needed:
- A set of six-sided dice (3 per player)
- A small bowl or cup for rolling (optional)
- Tokens or coins for betting (optional)
Objective: Accumulate the highest score over a series of rounds without getting "Stormed."
Gameplay:
Starting the Game: Players roll one die to determine the starting player. The highest roll begins the game, with play proceeding clockwise.
Betting Round (Optional): Before each round, players can place bets on the round's winner, the highest roll, or specific combinations.
Rolling the Dice:
- Players take turns rolling their three dice.
- After the roll, they can choose to keep the roll or re-roll any number of their dice once.
- The goal is to achieve the highest combination or total value.
Scoring Combinations:
- Straight (1-2-3 or 4-5-6): Worth 75 points.
- Triple: Scored as the dice number times 10.
- Pair: Scored as the dice number times 5.
- Sum: The sum of the dice if no combination is achieved.
Stormed (The Twist):
- Rolling three 1s is getting "Stormed."
- This resets the player’s score to zero for that round, and they must contribute an extra token or coin to the pot.
Sabotage:
- After a player's second roll, opponents have two "Sabotage" opportunities per player per game.
- "Sabotage" involves forcing the targeted player to re-roll one of their dice.
Winning the Round:
- The player with the highest score or combination after everyone has rolled wins the round.
- In betting games, the round winner collects the pot.
Game End:
- The game is played over a set number of rounds or until players decide to stop.
- The player with the highest total score or most tokens at the end is declared the winner.
Storm's Roll: Betting Phase
