Hussar

Appearance: Hussars have human skin which changes pigment depending on the environment. Hussars are hairless, the Iris and Sclera are red. Due to the lack limited variance in phenotypes from their cloned nature, their facial structure has limited variations, most adorn artificial scars, tattoos, or decorate their armor to individualize themselves.

Biology: Hussars possess many traits that enhance their ability to perform as commandos.
Hussars have no set time they need to sleep, instead they are able to enter a half sleep state in short bursts throughout a day, allowing them to never truly fall asleep, although they are capable of this. The period of waking napping reduces their reflex and cognitive speed.
Hussars unlike most sapient species, are Heterothermic. Meaning they can regulate their own body temperature but also allow their environment to influence their body temperature by reducing their metabolic rate. This allows them to excel in extreme temperature environments.
On top of the typical abilities a genetically engineered soldier to have, the Hussar possess a one of a kind organ unique to their species. The Luxauris, two connected organs positioned in a cavity at the bottom-rear side of the skull. The function of this organ is to hear and decode radio messages. These organs allow a Hussar to track enemy positions and listen to what an enemy force is planning.
As hussars have a psychological drive for violence, their gene designers needed a way to keep them loyal to their commanders. They achieved this with two genetic dispositions. A deep psychological dependency for a hierarchy and authority enforcement by conditioning and training in their youth. The second one being a chemical dependency on a military grade combat supplement that also keeps their metabolism in regular order. Without the supplement they can no longer metabolize energy from fat reserves or digested food, leading to fatigue and muscle atrophy.

History: The first attempts of a genetically engineered soldier were largely unsuccessful as adult subjects were used. The changes needed were too extreme for an mature adult to handle or logistically infeasible. People born with the changes already made became the only solution to the engineered soldier program.
