Biography

Background

Lannalra was the first among the Diathans to create life on Avada. During the era known as The Evershaping Earth, she delved deep into the planet's core and drew forth pure prisms and precious gems. Shaping these prisms and gemstones into her own image, she gave birth to the first Prismatic Dragons and the Gemstone Dragons. The Prismatic Dragons embodied the full spectrum of light, while the Gemstone Dragons represented the unique qualities of the earth's most precious stones. Together, they were just and neutral protectors, imbued with the essence of balance and harmony.
The Prismatic and Gemstone Dragons roamed Avada, safeguarding its lands and inhabitants from chaos and destruction. They served as guardians of the natural world, ensuring that the elements remained in harmony during the ever-changing landscapes of The Evershaping Earth.
When the Primal Element War erupted—a colossal conflict among the elemental forces threatening to tear the world apart—Lannalra and her dragons fought valiantly alongside mortals. Their combined efforts were instrumental in defeating the Primordials and restoring peace to Avada.
After the Primordials were defeated and mortals lived on Avada in peace, Lannalra desired a new creation. Upon her head sat two beautiful spirals of prisms. She tore them from herself, creating two new forms of life: her twin children, Layana and Lathrea. She then pulled the colors from one of the Prismatic Dragons and created the Chromatic and Metallic Dragons. The Chromatic Dragons were gifted to Lathrea, and the Metallic Dragons to Layana.
Lannalra also created the Dragonborn, beings formed to match those of the dragons but in bipedal form. She told her children to protect them and lead them honestly and justly. Her children instructed the dragons to safeguard the Dragonborn and other mortals that inhabited Avada.

The Corruption of Lathrea

Lathrea, initially a just and noble deity like his mother, had his mind corrupted by Theonvara, a malevolent entity who sought to disrupt the harmony that Lannalra had established. Theonvara whispered insidious thoughts into Lathrea's mind, convincing him that his mother favored Layana and secretly loathed him. Consumed by jealousy and resentment, Lathrea turned against Lannalra's teachings.
Under Theonvara's influence, the Chromatic Dragons and some of the Dragonborn began to corrupt. They developed a desire to become the highest standard of what a mortal could be, believing themselves superior to other beings. Lathrea's followers started to siege and take over towns and cities, asserting their dominance and spreading fear across Avada.
Distressed by the turmoil, Lannalra confronted her son about what had skewed his ideals. She sought to understand his grievances and bring him back to the path of balance and harmony. During their intense argument, Theonvara appeared, seizing the moment of discord. In a treacherous act, Theonvara stabbed Lannalra in the heart, mortally wounding her.
Lannalra's death was a devastating blow to the balance of Avada and became the catalyst for the Diathan War—a monumental conflict among the deities that shook the foundations of the world. The betrayal not only shattered the unity of the divine but also plunged mortals into chaos as the forces of corruption and righteousness clashed.

Aftermath and Legacy

The passing of Lannalra left a void that rippled through all of creation. The Prismatic Dragons and Gemstone Dragons, overwhelmed by grief and betrayal, reacted in different ways. Many of the Prismatic Dragons fled into the Unknown and became Astral Dragons, traversing the cosmic realms in search of solace. The Gemstone Dragons, deeply connected to the earth, retreated into the world's hidden places, continuing to watch over Avada from within its very foundations.
Only a few Prismatic and Gemstone Dragons chose to remain active on the surface, dwelling in the deepest caverns and remote areas to mourn their fallen creator and preserve her teachings.
Layana, stricken by the loss of her mother and the corruption of her brother, took up the mantle of leadership over the Metallic Dragons and the Dragonborn who remained true to Lannalra's ideals. She vowed to restore balance and oppose the forces of corruption unleashed by Lathrea and Theonvara.
The Diathan War raged as gods and mortals alike chose sides. The conflict reshaped the world, with epic battles and profound sacrifices. Ultimately, the forces of balance and justice prevailed. Lathrea, consumed by his own corruption, was defeated and cast down. Theonvara's influence was diminished, though not entirely eradicated.
In the war's aftermath, Layana worked tirelessly to heal the wounds inflicted upon Avada. She promoted unity among the races and reinstated the values of harmony and justice that her mother had cherished.
