The Dragon's Conquests

The Dragon’s Conquests marked an era of unprecedented strife in the history of Avada. For eight years, the ancient dragons, angered by the growing power of mortals and the death of their kin, sought to subjugate the world once more. Four of the most fearsome dragons—SahqoMaar, ViingDinok, DunThur, and DwiinAl—rose to power, each claiming a nation in one of Avada’s continents with the goal of ruling them entirely. However, amidst this onslaught of tyranny, a beacon of hope emerged in the form of YuvonVu, a Golden Dragon, who allied with mortals to fight back against the darkness.

The Origins of the Conquest

In the years preceding the Dragon’s Conquests, mortal civilizations had flourished across the continents of Beornrah, Izadra, Ormstunga, and Somerfirth. Their kingdoms and empires spread, unknowingly provoking the wrath of ancient dragons who once ruled the skies. As mortals expanded, hunting dragons and laying claim to lands once ruled by them, the balance between dragons and humans was shattered.

Four of the mightiest ancient dragons, enraged by the fall of their kind and fueled by a desire to reclaim their dominance, forged a pact to conquer Avada. These dragons—SahqoMaar, the Red Terror, ViingDinok, the Winged Death, DunThur, the Graceful Tyrant, and DwiinAl, the Steel Destroyer—chose to each take control of one nation on a separate continent, enslaving the people and establishing footholds for greater conquest.

But amid this alliance of tyranny, not all dragons agreed with their brethren. YuvonVu, known as the Golden Dawn, a noble and ancient golden dragon, recognized the injustice of their actions. Instead of aiding the conquest, he sought to protect mortals and resist the darkness.

The Conquest Begins

The conquest unfolded swiftly, as the dragons descended upon the nations of Avada. The goal was simple: take control of a major kingdom in each continent and expand their dominance outward until the entire world was under their rule.

  1. SahqoMaar: The Red Terror in Beornrah
SahqoMaar, a red dragon whose fiery breath could reduce entire cities to ash, claimed the mountain kingdom of Kharas-Dûn in Beornrah. Known for its wealth and powerful armies, Kharas-Dûn fell to SahqoMaar’s relentless firestorms. The mortal kings of Beornrah, once confident in their ability to repel invaders, were quickly overrun, their cities set ablaze. SahqoMaar enslaved the survivors, forcing them to mine gold and gems for his vast hoard, while others were offered as sacrifices to maintain his fiery wrath. His ambition was to claim the entire continent, with Kharas-Dûn serving as his capital.

  2. ViingDinok: The Winged Death in Izadra
ViingDinok, a black dragon whose corrosive breath poisoned the earth, descended upon the fertile nation of Zorin Tal in Izadra. The lush fields and thriving cities were turned into poisonous wastelands as ViingDinok unleashed death and decay. His arrival turned Zorin Tal into a kingdom of the dead, where mortals either succumbed to his poisons or were forced into slavery. ViingDinok, rather than seeking tribute or rule, sought to annihilate all life in Izadra, hoping to reshape the continent in his own twisted image.

  3. DunThur: The Graceful Tyrant in Ormstunga
DunThur, a green dragon known for his cunning and manipulation, targeted Fenbar, a prosperous coastal kingdom in Ormstunga. Using his magical abilities, DunThur infiltrated the minds of Fenbar’s rulers, turning them against each other in a series of betrayals and deceptions. Under his control, the ruling families of Fenbar destroyed one another, leaving the kingdom in ruins. DunThur claimed the throne through his mastery of illusion and manipulation, ruling as a shadowy tyrant while the people of Ormstunga were none the wiser. His plan was to slowly and subtly extend his reach, taking the entire continent through treachery and deceit.

  4. DwiinAl: The Steel Destroyer in Somerfirth
In Somerfirth, the iron-scaled dragon DwiinAl, known as the Steel Destroyer, laid siege to the kingdom of Argorin, a fortress nation famed for its warriors and forges. DwiinAl, impervious to mortal weapons, crushed the armies of Argorin beneath his immense weight, using his indestructible scales to deflect all attacks. Under his rule, the once-proud Argorin warriors became little more than slaves, forced to create weapons and armor for DwiinAl’s growing legions. His goal was to conquer all of Somerfirth, forging an empire of warlords who would spread his tyranny to the farthest corners of the continent.

The Golden Dawn: YuvonVu’s Stand

Amid the chaos and destruction brought by the four dragons, hope was not entirely lost. YuvonVu, a noble and ancient Golden Dragon, was horrified by the actions of his brethren. Seeing the suffering of the mortals and the devastation wrought upon Avada, YuvonVu sought to rally the mortals and other dragons who still valued justice and balance.

YuvonVu traveled across the continents, uniting mortal kingdoms that had survived the onslaught and arming them with knowledge and magic capable of standing against the ancient dragons. His wisdom, compassion, and strength inspired hope where there was none. Under YuvonVu’s guidance, the mortals forged alliances, combining their magical abilities, ancient weapons, and sheer determination to create a force capable of resisting their draconic oppressors.

In Beornrah, YuvonVu personally led an army to challenge SahqoMaar, clashing with the Red Terror in the skies above Kharas-Dûn. Though the battle was fierce, YuvonVu’s golden fire proved a match for SahqoMaar’s destructive flames, and his intervention allowed the mortals of Beornrah to launch a counterattack against the red dragon’s forces.

The Fall of the Dragon Lords

For eight long years, the war raged across Avada. Mortals, bolstered by YuvonVu’s leadership, began to slowly push back against the dragon lords. In each nation, resistance forces launched daring raids, sabotaged supply lines, and challenged the dragons in battles that spanned land, sea, and sky.

  • SahqoMaar was defeated in a climactic battle when YuvonVu, alongside the mortal armies of Beornrah, overwhelmed the red dragon. His flames were finally extinguished, and the kingdom of Kharas-Dûn was liberated.

  • ViingDinok was ultimately brought low by a coalition of druids and wizards who managed to cleanse the lands of Izadra and trap the Winged Death in an ancient necropolis, forever sealing him away.

  • DunThur was betrayed by his own mortal puppets when YuvonVu revealed his manipulations to the leaders of Ormstunga. In a final act of defiance, DunThur was slain by a mortal hero who had been one of his greatest pawns.

  • DwiinAl, the Steel Destroyer, fell in a siege where mortals, having learned the secrets of his indestructible scales, used enchanted weapons to pierce his iron armor. The kingdom of Argorin was freed, and Somerfirth was finally at peace.

The Aftermath of the Conquests

With the defeat of the four dragon lords, peace returned to Avada, but the scars left by the Dragon’s Conquests would remain for generations. Entire kingdoms had been reduced to ash, and countless lives were lost in the struggle for survival. But the mortals, with the help of YuvonVu, had proven their resilience and strength, standing united against a seemingly unstoppable force.

YuvonVu became a revered figure across the continents, known as the Golden Dawn, the dragon who stood for justice and balance in a world torn apart by tyranny. His legacy lived on as a symbol of hope, and the mortals of Avada swore to protect their world from any future threat, dragon or otherwise.

The Dragon’s Conquests were over, but the world of Avada had been forever changed.
