Lord of the Beasts, The Thundering Savage, Lord of Primal Desire

Maluil

Description

Appearance

Maluil takes the form of a grotesque and fearsome creature, a terrifying hybrid between a crocodile and a hippopotamus, embodying the raw and savage power of the wilderness. Its massive, hulking body is covered in thick, mottled hide, bristling with jagged tusks and lined with rows of predatory teeth that can tear through any foe. The creature is adorned with numerous eyes scattered across its body—red and glaring, constantly searching for prey. These eyes burn with a feral intensity, reflecting Maluil's insatiable hunger for bloodshed and carnage.
Its tusks, sharp and menacing, curve outward like weapons of war, dripping with the dark essence of the Abyss. The ground trembles beneath its weight, and wherever it goes, the air thickens with the scent of blood and fear. Maluil’s body exudes a primal aura, evoking the image of a wild and unstoppable force of nature, tempered only by its cunning and predatory intelligence. It moves with a brutal grace, every step deliberate and menacing, always poised to attack.
Maluil’s presence is a physical manifestation of unrestrained violence and savagery. Its many eyes give it the perception of omniscience on the battlefield, and its tusks symbolize its relentless desire to tear apart anything that stands in its way. The aura that surrounds it drives its followers into a berserker-like frenzy, inspiring them to embrace their primal instincts in pursuit of conquest and bloodshed.

Personality

Maluil is the embodiment of primal savagery, bloodlust, and violent conquest. It revels in chaos and warfare, exulting in the heat of battle where strength and brutality reign supreme. With the ferocity of a berserker, Maluil is driven by an insatiable hunger for destruction and domination, urging its followers to unleash their inner beasts and take what they believe is theirs by force.
Though Maluil's rule is savage and tyrannical, it does care for its followers—at least in its own twisted way. The deity believes that through embracing their primal instincts and wielding the power of savagery, its followers can claim the world as their birthright. It pushes them constantly to engage in strife, conflict, and warfare, seeing conquest as the highest form of glory. Under its reign, there is no peace, only the constant drive for more land, more blood, and more power.
Despite its love for battle, Maluil does not reject more strategic forms of conquest. It is willing to support colonization efforts, provided that such actions increase the territory and influence of its people. For Maluil, the end goal is always the same: absolute domination, where those who embrace their primal nature rule over all others.

Biography

Lord of the Realm of Monsters

Maluil rules over a brutal and savage domain in the Abyss known as the Realm of Monsters. This layer is a chaotic and inhospitable place, where only the strongest and most vicious survive. It is a land of towering beasts, ravenous predators, and endless battles for dominance. Maluil’s realm is a reflection of its own nature—wild, untamable, and drenched in blood. It is here that Maluil's most devoted followers gather, driven by the desire to conquer and claim the world for their savage god.
As the Lord of Beasts, Maluil is worshipped by those who seek to embrace their primal instincts, relinquishing the constraints of civilization and morality in favor of pure savagery and domination. Maluil embodies all that is brutal and monstrous, urging its followers to cast aside weakness and embrace the power that lies in violence and conquest. Its worshipers are often warlords, barbarians, and beast-tamers who find strength in chaos and the untamed wilderness.
Lycanthropy is one of the most infamous gifts Maluil bestowed upon mortals. It is said that the first Lycanthrope was a mortal champion of Maluil, gifted with the ability to transform into a monstrous beast, embodying the primal savagery that the deity revered. This "gift" was passed down to his two sons, Azhjaha and Morax, and their bloodlines became the origin of two distinct factions of Lycanthropes.

The Creation of the Lycanthropes

The creation of the Lycanthropes is one of Maluil's most significant legacies. The first Lycanthrope was a champion of Maluil, a warrior who embraced the savage power that the deity offered. As a reward, Maluil gifted this champion with the ability to transform into a ferocious beast—a creature of pure primal power. This champion passed the gift of lycanthropy to his two sons, Azhjaha and Morax, but the brothers viewed their gift in vastly different ways.

  • Azhjaha, the elder son, saw the transformation as a curse. He feared the uncontrollable nature of the beast within and sought a way to tame it. Azhjaha prayed to the Moon Maiden, now known as Allishae, begging for the strength to control the inner beast. Allishae, seeing the sincerity in Azhjaha’s heart, answered his prayers and gifted him and his followers the ability to control their transformations, allowing them to retain their humanity and free will even in their beastly forms. This faction of Lycanthropes, known as the Moonbound, now worship Allishae, valuing balance and self-control over pure savagery.

  • Morax, the younger son, fully embraced the gift of Maluil. He believed that the beast should never be tamed, and that true power lay in embracing the primal savagery that Maluil represented. Morax and his followers, known as the Beastclaw, sought to amplify the power of the beast within, giving in to their instincts and allowing the beast to control them during transformations. For them, the loss of humanity was not a curse, but a path to greater strength. They worship Maluil as the true lord of their kind, valuing power, violence, and unrestrained savagery.

  • This split in the Lycanthrope bloodline created two distinct factions: those who sought control over their transformations and those who fully embraced the beast within. The two factions are often in conflict, with the Moonbound seeking peace and balance, while the Beastclaw worship Maluil and seek to conquer and destroy all that stand in their way.

Worshipers

Followers and Beliefs

Maluil’s followers are those who seek to dominate, conquer, and unleash their primal instincts. They are warriors, barbarians, and Lycanthropes who revel in bloodshed and savagery, believing that through violence and warfare, they can achieve true glory. Maluil’s worshippers believe that the strong have the right to take what they want, and that the weak are destined to be consumed by the powerful.
Lycanthropes: Many Lycanthropes, particularly those of the Beastclaw clan, are devoted to Maluil. They worship the Lord of Beasts as the source of their primal power, believing that by giving in to their savage nature, they can become stronger and more fearsome.
Barbarians and Warlords: Those who seek to conquer and rule through fear and violence often turn to Maluil for guidance. They believe that through warfare and bloodshed, they can earn the favor of the Lord of Beasts and claim new lands and power in its name.
Savage Tribes: Maluil’s worship is common among savage tribes who live in harsh, untamed lands. These tribes value strength and dominance, and they see Maluil as the ultimate embodiment of the wild forces of nature that govern their lives.

Temples and Sacred Sites

Maluil’s temples are rarely found in civilized lands. Instead, they are hidden deep within jungles, forests, and other untamed regions. These temples are often constructed from stone and bone, adorned with symbols of war and savagery. Inside, the walls are decorated with trophies from battle—skulls, weapons, and the pelts of fearsome beasts. The air inside these temples is thick with the scent of blood, and the sounds of distant roars and howls seem to echo from every corner.
Beastclaw Shrines: In the lands controlled by the Beastclaw Lycanthropes, shrines to Maluil are often found in caves or ancient ruins. These shrines are places of ritualistic bloodshed, where followers sacrifice both animals and enemies to honor the Lord of Beasts.
Altars of Carnage: In times of war, Maluil’s followers erect temporary altars on the battlefield, where sacrifices are made to ensure victory. These altars are often simple structures, drenched in blood and marked with the symbols of Maluil.

Legacy and Impact

Maluil’s legacy is one of bloodshed, war, and primal savagery. As the creator of Lycanthropes, Maluil introduced a primal and untamable force to the world that has continued to shape the course of history. The split between the Moonbound and Beastclaw clans of Lycanthropes has resulted in a long-standing conflict, not just between the two factions, but between the forces of savagery and self-control. The Beastclaw, who revere Maluil, continue to spread chaos wherever they roam, driven by the belief that their primal strength and savage nature are their birthright.

Beyond the Lycanthropes, Maluil’s influence stretches to many savage and barbaric cultures that seek to conquer through brute force and destruction. These followers, whether warlords, tribal leaders, or beast-tamers, embrace Maluil’s creed of unrelenting violence, seeing conquest and destruction as the ultimate paths to glory. In their eyes, Maluil’s teachings justify the brutality of their actions, encouraging them to take what they believe is rightfully theirs through strength and dominance.

The Realm of Monsters, Maluil’s domain in the Abyss, remains a constant threat to both the material plane and the other realms. Within this chaotic, brutal world, Maluil’s most devoted followers train and grow stronger, preparing for the day when they will spill out into the world and spread their lord’s savage influence even further. The legends of the Lord of Beasts inspire fear and awe in many, with some viewing Maluil as the ultimate embodiment of the wild forces of nature, while others see it as a terrifying force of unrelenting destruction.

Despite the chaos and violence associated with Maluil, the demon lord does care for its followers in its own twisted way. For Maluil, warfare and conquest are ways to bring glory and power to its people. The more territory they conquer, the more powerful Maluil becomes, and the closer its followers come to realizing their full potential as primal, unstoppable forces of nature.

Ultimately, Maluil’s impact is felt wherever there is war, chaos, and the unrelenting drive to conquer. Its followers continue to wreak havoc in the world, pushing the boundaries of savagery and primal might, always striving to claim the lands and power they believe are theirs by right. The beast within, as Maluil teaches, is the true path to power, and only those who embrace it can claim their place at the top of the savage hierarchy that the Lord of Beasts embodies.
