Dusk Deer

Description:

Dusk Deer are medium-sized, sleek herbivores with silver-gray coats that shimmer faintly in low light, helping them blend into the twilight hours of the day. Both males and females have elegant, spiral-shaped antlers that emit a soft, pale glow during dusk and dawn, a unique adaptation believed to aid courtship and communication. Their slender, agile bodies make them swift runners, capable of darting quickly through tall grass to evade predators.

Habitat:

Dusk Deer primarily inhabit the Asparalo Grasslands, thriving in the open plains where the lush grasses and rivers provide ample food and water. They are also occasionally found at the edges of nearby forests or lower mountain foothills, migrating seasonally to follow the freshest grazing lands. The grasslands' expansive terrain offers them both food and plenty of room to run from predators.

Behavior:

These deer are crepuscular, which is most active during dawn and dusk. They are social creatures, often moving in small herds for protection. Their faintly glowing antlers help individuals communicate in the dim light, signaling safety or warning of nearby predators. Though primarily grazers, Dusk Deer are highly alert and cautious, with excellent hearing and sight that allow them to detect threats from a distance. Their natural predators include highland wolves and saberfang cats, which often hunt them during the twilight hours.
