The Yelmalio cult survives in hostile Dragon Pass through its drilled pikemen – the famous Sun Dome Templars. These pikemen maintain the independence of Sun Dome County and is strategically hired out to other powers as mercenaries.
The Sun Dome Templars are rightly famous for their use of a long 15 foot long spear. They fight in extremely close formation, resting their round shields on a neck strap which permits them to grip the heavy spear with both hands while in battle. The Sun Dome Templars fight and drill in “files” of 64 men; they are superbly disciplined to present a forest of pikes to their foes. The Templars have the very best armor the cult can provide. Each man wears a corset of lacquered leather and a crested full helmet. Ergeshi slaves carry their other equipment.
Sun Dome County can muster massed archers, spearmen and two superb regiments of Templar pike, although half the army always remains to keep an eye on the servile population.
