This complex is built around the king’s audience chamber. This rectangular hall has an open hearth that is vented through an oculus in the roof above it and surrounded by four columns. The king sits atop the magical Ivory Throne to meet with councilors, petitioners, and envoys in this chamber, and hold feasts for tribal thanes and warriors. A great bronze cauldron, a gift from Palashee Longaxe to the Colymar and large enough to hold over 400 liters of wine, is kept here for ritual celebrations.
Surrounding the audience chamber is a system of interconnected courtyards, archive rooms, workshops, living quarters, religious shrines, armories, and storerooms. The Rex Statue of the Orlanth Rex cult is kept most days in a room near the audience chamber.
The king’s household and retinue have living quarters within the palace. Most of the Royal Bodyguard reside here.
