Heroquests have three main levels. The inhabitants of Glorantha don't really think of it quite like that, but as players, we'll talk about it that way.
- There's the mundane level where you have props and actors and the whole thing is pretty scripted out which is for practice or to get small bonuses. The sacred time ritual is like this, though elevated a little by the fact that it's sacred time.
- The second is the heroquest version where you go to the heroplane and reenact the myth among the spirits and locations of the gods. Often other heroquesters fill in the parts without any coordination from you (they're on heroquests of their own).
- The greatest version is the Godplane version where you interact with the deities themselves and maybe take one of their places in the myth.
