Born outside the town of Romitello, Sicily to a poor family he, and his family, emigrated to the U.S. when he was 14. They settled in New York, almost instantly coming under the harassments of 'True Americans', those born in the United States. Antonio had faced down the American gangs on a daily basis, only getting help when other Italian families began to move into the area. By that point he had learned harsh lessons in street brawling and gathered a moderately sized group of other young men that kept an eye on the Italian owned shops and apartments.
They each had day jobs as butchers, carpenters, ditch diggers, or whatever else they could get, but when they weren't working those long hours for minimal pay they saw to the safety of their neighbors. When the various gangs of New York tried to shake down the locals, Antonio and his friends would move to protect their small blocks.
One day, someone pulled a knife and Antonio ended up losing an eye while the other boy lost his life. The boy, unfortunately, was the nephew of a police sergeant and the weight of the department swung in his direction. He had some cousins that ended up in making a weak living in Georgia as share croppers, so he moved there. While his own people barely got by, he watched as the slaves on the plantations suffered more. The rich whites freely brutalized anyone of a different race and Antonio's anger grew day by day. He would help slaves flee south to Florida and the safety of the swamps and local Indigenous people by giving them food and a place to sleep for a night or two.
Then came the war..
He attempted to sabotage the war effort in Georgia, but he ended up being caught by a press gang and inducted into the Southern army. His anger and resentment grew even stronger as he was forced to march and fight for the South and the state of Georgia, but he kept it bottled down as much as he could. Antonio knew that if his views became known that he would surely be hung or shot.
One evening, towards the end of the war, a group of Northern cavalry swooped through the small encampment his company had made. While the other soldiers hurried to take cover and fight back, Antonio took the opportunity to kill the Captain. Antonio slid his bayonet deep into his back while no one was looking in an attempt to make it look like an enemy soldier. However, his killing did not go unnoticed. A Brujah had led the attack and watched as Antonio killed the Captain and then two other officers. He took Antonio on as a ghoul after they killed the rest of the Southern contingent.
The Brujah taught Antonio to read and write, maths, and other basics that Antonio had missed growing up and never being able to attend a school. The Brujah was leading his own band of fighters against the South and Antonio was more than happy to join. The group didn't stop their attacks with the end of the war, they took to personal attacks against the former officers and plantation owners. Finally, a few years after the end of the war he was Embraced. He had learned of the Sabbat, and their atrocious treatment of those they deem weak, and the Camarilla, who had openly supported the slave system in the South, and hated them both.
His actions gained too much notice in the East, so Antonio had to flee West.. eventually settling in California.
There, he gained notoriety with the Anarchs
